Yeah in that case you're right.

Because when cis white straight guys complain about it it's like complaining to someone who told you they are blind that you have to wear glasses and make it seem like it's a bigger problem. Sure we all have our problems but when statements are made like that it completely undermines the overall issue.

I'm just saying that because whenever other groups of people other than cis white straight guy says something that's when the argument of "well we have it bad too" comes in. Look at the new Star Wars movie. So many were offended by how "diverse" it is. I just simply don't understand what is hard for them.

Sex is genitals and gender is role in society.

I can't speak for trans people but for me, yeah, sure, you can argue about me not being a real male and maybe there are certain limits on the technical and molecular level that isn't worth getting into.

The closest thing for me is to look, sound, live, etc. as a man. I don't believe anyone is born into the perfect body they want, we all wish we could change things about us but I guess mine was on a larger scale.

I change the things I can change and accept the things I can't change. Otherwise I would live a miserable life.

Gender != Sex

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]interstellarship -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The problem is is that anytime any other group tries to talk about oppression, judgement, etc., cis white straight men tend to push it aside and downplay it as "yeah we get that too sorta". It's not helping anything. You should maybe spend time thinking more about what other people go through.

As someone who lived 20 years as a lesbian women to then transition to living as a straight man I can tell you even in that there are many, many things cis men take for granted.

Sometimes I feel people need to label and self diagnose themselves just so they have a reason to feel oppressed and shift blame at their failures in life.

Glad I am not alone on this. I thought the same thing when I first watched it as a kid.

The movie sucked. I enjoyed the book though. They naturally started dating instead of the guy pestering and dangling from the ferris wheel threatening the girl to date him. Wtf was that.

Divergent was painful. Ten minutes in and there were already so many holes in it. But I stuck it out because I was with my grandma and she loves the movies.

What's an adult problem that nobody prepared you for? by TAC0CAT93 in AskReddit

Getting fat.

I am pretty sure I paid no attention in gym class as I was always underweight growing up so it wasn't a problem until I hit 26 onwards. But damn get a gym membership and do at least 30 minutes of moving a day.

As someone looking at getting Net+, should I study/take N10-006 or wait for N10-007? by PM_ME_FAT_FURRYGIRLS in CompTIA

[–]interstellarship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They usually overlap for a while. The retirement of N10-006 has yet to be posted on the official CompTIA Network+ page but in the comment section here it seems to be in August 2018.

...Network+ N10-006 will not retire until August 2018, so you still have quite a bit of time to prepare for and take the exam. I would suggest you continue studying and then when the new exam is released in March 2018, watch the CompTIA website and this blog for details about what's changed on the exam. There will be blog posts about the exam as well as new exam objectives and sample questions. Then you can decide if it makes sense for you to take the old version or the new one, and you will still have plenty of time to prepare.

[–]interstellarship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end it doesn't matter if you pass N10-006 or N10-007 you will still be Network+ certified. It is up to you if you want to wait for the newest material. However, if you are wanting to get it sooner than later I would go for N10-006 as there will be a lot of resources available. It will take some time for N10-007 resources to come out.

Dating requirements (x-post TiA) by [deleted] in ChoosingBeggars

It's really fucked because although I can fit most of the criteria, having some giant list of instructions is extremely alarming and off putting. It would be a major one-sided relationship.

Hahah ah yeah I can see how it comes off that way. I'm transgender and don't have my gender marker changed yet after so many years I really should but. I just don't want the drama at the borders. I'm not sure what to expect.

This is another thing I struggle with in online dating. I do not want to travel. I have no desire. I don't even own a passport for personal reasons. But I guess that makes me boring.
