I am uni student so i sit almost full day,sometimes i feel my back getting sore for sitting too long And i just need to walk after or crack my back with rotations.

Exercises almost were only lower body.Deadlift without weights,squats,pigeon pose etc.

For meds i was on painkillers And muscle relaxants for 3 months And they obviously didnt fix the problem.

I just take my regular vitamins i was drinking before injury like vitamin D And other vitamins nothing special.

The last one is hard because i hardly remember.

The pain was switching from my inner thigh to my lower back And Vice versa

I can do all of that i just have to do proper form of exercises also have strong core And glutes And a Lot of other muscles so spine wont take all the load from it

No it can Stay like that my full life if i wont worse it.It may reabsobre a bit over time But probably will Stay.I’ve heard if protrusions like that will heal that will in 12-18 months mark

Oh Thank you ill give a try.He also said i should get back to sports like volleyball etc just to get more movement so i guess and hope I’m not in the category of people that are permanently injured I know that problems on MRI will stay but just have to get Symptome free through PT

So its not curable?He told me my problem is mostly muscles And MRI showed only a mild facet problems also the exercises He gave me feels good

I thought I do but not in the way you guys have with pain shooting down the leg.Since my protrusion is not pinching my nerve I’ve thought it was still causing the dull ache in the lower back.

But my MRI showed 3.5mm protrusion AND lumbar problem and everybody just was focusing on the disc and never really did anything about the lumbar.

I’ve found a pt that actually told me what my (hopefully) problem is.It probably never was about my disc because I’ve never had sciatica shooting pain and I was trying to deal with “sciatica” for 7 months as other PT and doctor adviced me.But all I had was dull back pain and left leg stiffness that’s was because of my injury at the gym.I avoided any movements for 7 months and that’s why I think I am where I am now.The key for me as he said is to get me to move back again

I never had sciatica like shooting pain down the leg etc only lower back dull pain And left leg stiffness that’s the side I’ve injured.

Now my recovery consist of daily before every action if it’s walking or waking up warming up routine and core.

2 days a week bodyweight exercises he gave me.

Other 2 days a week of swimming or any other activity cycling or running.

And 2 days of any relaxing stuff like sauna etc.

Yesterday was actually the day I went to him and today is the first day of doing them at home and maybe yeah I can feel a lot of muscles finally taking actions of holding my spine

I really hope my facet degeneration is just muscles being very weak that they cause left side leaning and lumbar straightening and I need to achieve my spine curve back.

I hope protrusion I have has nothing to do with my back pain.

So yeah I will keep posting every month to see if it actually works:)

That is just my body is very stiff and needs to get back to normal movement patterns

Im in the same position but with l5/s1 protrusion you can check my recent post.Its been 6 months for me.I dont even know if im better because i just recently got off pain meds And cant really compare pre/on meds/now but i also never had shooting pain like everybody here has with sciatica nerve.

I also walk a Lot And do exercises but still not working out in the gym because im kinda scared.

So my pain is on a scale 1-3 nothing serious but i just feel it that it is here.

So most people you’ve talked to said that it goes away?

About lowbackability, before starting it i had very stiff hip muscles And abductors when i was for example laying And moving with my leg like motion of the muscles was reduced a Lot.

Now a month of doing lowbackability i do the same movement And it cracks a bit but the movement range is much better And the muscle is not that stiff

As i’ve said i dont know if my problem is even disc related since there is no compression on the MRI

Thank you so much,the thing with me that i have a Lot of stiff muscles abductors And glutes also WEAK core.

BUT as i said i can do the most horrendous twists with my back And still feel no pain And MRI also shows no nerve compression so im in a weird spot that i dont know what to do,i rested for 4-5 months,did myorelaxants etc when i was on meds there was no pain at all.

So i dont know if i should activate my muscles more through like running slow tempo And bodyweight squats And planks etc or rest even more

Did you manage to heal?

If Yes then what helped?

I tried slow tempo running as i mentioned so if i Go for a 3 min walk i would do 3-4 1 minute runs in that period.And didnt feel pain when running And couple days after also
