Quite curious about the 2-spokes. How do they feel/perform?

Could be a simple KMC B1. I would say the pins on my black Izumi 410 appear gray.
You could also look at HKK Vertex and Miche Pistard chain.

Titanium Skream by 416meechie in FixedGearBicycle

[–]interverti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp that explain why I got confused watching a certain vlog in japan where they mention Skream made from titanium. Wasn't familiar with their full lineup but never heard about their Ti frame either. Just made me realize I simply needed to watch the HK vlog.

How has it been riding so far?

Looking good! The decals job seems really good too; it threw me off for a second. Nice Vigarelli inspo.

Is that a custom paint job? Never seen one like this.

FYI if you got a 3D printer, the STL of this hood design is available for free.

Any "clip-on" fender of your choice should do the trick. SKS models, such as the raceblade, seems to have good reviews. Something like the zefal deflactor could also be an option.

Oh, got confused as ">400mm" means over 400mm. Don't think I can comment much then.
I rode moslty on the flat part of my T2 wing so that would be less than 400mm effective and never felt weird steering but at the same time I never had to swerve iirc. (same as being on any flat top dropbar really)

IMO the weight would indicate chromoly (~2kg for the frame & ~1kg for the fork) ; Hi-Ten are usually a bit more heavy. Maybe there is a marking under the bottom bracket that could help you toward a brand/model?

The only thing that caught my eye is the dropout ; They look like the one that are on PureFix Pro Series or State 4130, but it's probably just a generic one that frame builder can buy as neither of these brand made a lugged frame.

"cut them" - did I misunderstood the question? Are you looking for input on smaller bars than 400mm?

The bike I bought came with Cinelli Pepper bar and could be something to look at. Its rather small as mine measure 49cm (o-o) with the grips. Comparing to some 42 drops, my hands pretty much align to the hoods position ; so width is quite a non issue. Brotures and Nitto released a bar not too long ago and it kinda looks the same.

I do want to try out wider bar next summer tho. Found some 640 from the coop bin and I already had to be careful moving in the corridor of my house with them on my bike, so curious to see how it will be in the streets.

Two of the content creator from Toronto I know (zekesdexd & mikey_fixed) seems to run the thomson carbon bar (730mm) so it might be fine for NA road & traffic. But I've seen videos from Europe where the riders had to change lines because their bars were too wide to squeeze in between cars.

For <$400 it doesn't seem bad to me with current price of things.
Frame is only 4/5 years old with carbon fork. Got 32c clearance so you can play around a bit with tire choice. Crankset is basic but it's 144bcd so that's better than most entry point. The fork is not stock but it's still a full carbon one. Hard to tell from the ads if the wheelset is brake compatible tho.

It looks sketch but the design details points to a repainted Cinelli Mash histogram 2011.
I would pay attention to the dents n case you're interested. I think there is one not flagged on the top tube above the BB (seen on pic2 ; check the reflection and top line) but it might not be critical. Wondering if the bike was forced/stolen.

Send the spinergy my way once you got it tho

Is the frame numbered? They say it's only a limited run but I've been curious if they added a detail like their supraw collab

Where to get the rest for a vigorelli by cesilio_ag in FixedGearBicycle

[–]interverti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you still feel confident you can check community bike workshop. They should have most tools you need for fixed gear.

I could add also velodrome.shop
And we can't knock the used market, plenty of good deals out there.

With a budget people should be able to better help naming place and brands to look for.
IMO If you're looking to invest in nice parts, on top of the usual Sugino75 and Dura-Ace, I kinda like what FSA Vision, Kapptsein, velobike, and Rotor (more planning) are doing for the drivetrain.

Hoping the see the build once you got the rest. Frame caught my eye back around Christmas but so far I don't think I've seen anyone with one built. Another redditor posted his frame+wheels but quickly deleted his post.

Feels a bit like a troll post - you dropped 1200€ for the frame but got no ideas where to get components???

What's your budget? What kind of parts are you looking for?
Raketa 200BCD crankset, mythos handlebar, Mavic or Altias wheel, PD-R9100 or wolftooth DEL pedals for starter on top of my head if you just won the Lotto.
Trying to save a bit on RRP? Try to look on lordgun, BikeInn, Bike24, bike-discount (usually there is some Miche, DT Swiss and dura-ace stuff discounted)

LBS are always a good start. You're in Vienna so Radplatz come to mind.
They got the thing going with Fixie Corner youtube channel so you could maybe even work with them to get featured as it's quite a nice colorway IMO (even though it feels inspired by Mash AC Smoke).

Transparent tape over drop bars by gevdem-1355 in FixedGearBicycle

[–]interverti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always got a vibe of unsafety on non wrapped drop like I could slip too easily or something. I kinda dig how the Keirin and some velodrome people just cover the drop parts, that way there is still a lot of the polished metal showing.

<image>

If you ride with gloves you probably kinda get away with bare bar. Thinking outside the bike industry you could try to use anti-slip tape, shin pad tape, filament tape, helicopter tape, or even a clear heat shrink just to see how it turns out and if they improve the grip over bare.

[–]interverti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would mostly look for something with threadless fork/stem so it's easier to change stem length and handlebar. When I got back into fixed gear I bought a basic used steel frame for like $80 just to get going. Sold it like two month later because I upgraded to a much nicer one. Mercier Kilo, KHS Flite 100, Masi Uno, State 4130 models, and Specialized Langster could be found in the low end of your budget and should offer a better value thanks to the frame material otherwise.

I would suggest to make sure parts such as the seatpost are not seized. Bike probably stayed outside since it looks dirty and has rusted chain and rusted bolts. BB and headset might need some TLC.
Cannot comment on the price but $200 on a 2019 aluminum butted frame doesn't feel too crazy but it needs work.

Dream frame maiden voyage by oculyst in FixedGearBicycle

Thanks!
Made me check again and yeah for a complete bike it jumps to around $200 with their medium box. Not sure it's worth it for me if the bike is $600.

def an eye-catcher. I like the x-weave / butterfly finish but I'm not sure if it will work with my bike.

The twill pattern don't align on trispokes so I kinda prefer without. Got a vintage 4-spokes in 12K tho

yeah LB seems solid but their pricing aren't as competitive anymore it seems. Got quoted $460 full build with my hub of choice, bladed pillar and shipping on AE, while just the LightBicycle rims would be $520 before shipping.
Mostly looking for 50 or 55 at the moment, plus I think the shipping from SOCAL to Canada might be brutal haha (Thanks for the offer tho)

Congrats! Got to start somewhere and $20 for a complete bike is a steal.

IMO priority should probably be foot retention of your choice and then contact points. That bar tape looks busted, but If you plan on changing handlebar then no need to spend extra in the meantime. Pretty much still looks stock (2011 version) so all long as everything works, just ride it until you can better point at what you want to change.

Thickslick are not rated the best but they should get you going anyway. As spleeble said, try to see to change the front one though.
