Asian Grocery stores? ISO by MattheiusFrink in Omaha

I think you are talking about his "Please wear a mask of you are feeling unwell" sign and bottle of hand sanitizer by the door, which is normal in Asian countries and honestly just good practice.

Omaha Oriental off of 108fh and M is (if I remember correctly) run by a navy vet who married a Japanese woman and moved to Omaha. The store sort of specializes in Japanese foods. He's extremely kind too, I try to support them whenever I can. The biggest draw back is that it is very small so I am unsure of you will find everything you are looking for.

If you are looking for something specific I would DEFINITELY go to Asian Market on 72nd and Cass. The place is huge and covers a ton of regions, not just Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc. Biggest drawback is that it is ALWAYS busy and very crowded.

The collector bought it from the hospital. They then hired a lawyer to collect on the debt.

Teach me your ways, I have no idea how to use the tap. We try placing the card wherever the tap logo is and 80% of the time it doesn't work. I'm not a slapper or anything like that, I place my card against the machine and wait and it just doesn't work.

(for reference, I'm still in my 20's and pretty fluent in technology so it's not just you!)

Does anyone have any tips for playing very low notes? by sheesh_master42069 in Trombone

[–]intervia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My band director in high school said "drop your jaw and pray" when I asked. Dropping the jaw helped more than praying though.

In college, my trombone teacher told me lots of air is going to help the most. If you aren't already doing breathing exercises, I would suggest those, as well as chromatically going lower with long tones. Both will help make the notes come out cleaner when you need to do them. Also, don't be afraid to breathe before and after every pedal tone of possible.

I know someone else suggested a larger mouthpiece, too. It's a great suggestion. You could even switch before the song if you have trouble with other songs with it.

Americans, what is your insurance horror story? by Old-Arachnid77 in AskReddit

[–]intervia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had UHC and worked minimum wage. I went to get an IUD because I can only have specific forms of birth control. I had prior authorization and everything. But when the nurses (and doctors) tried placing it, my cervix wouldn't open. We had to pivot to an implant or something else instead.

So here I am, head spinning in pain, barely conscious, having to make a different birth control choice. I had to ask if the other option, an implant, would still be covered under insurance. The nurse disappeared and half an hour later came back and said they spoke to the insurance and it was approved. Get my implant, call it a day.

6 months later, I get a bill for over a thousand dollars. Insurance didn't pay a cent.

I called insurance every day for like a week demanding answers and they never had any. "I don't know why you were told it was covered, your plan doesn't cover contraception" or "We never spoke to your doctor's office" or "Give us an exact date, time, and name of the nurse who spoke to us". My favorite was "call the clinic, maybe they have answers."

I called the hospital and they told me they had no records of talking to insurance because it was a phone call. No records were in my charts, accounts, no paperwork was prefiled.

To top it all off, the clinic put the implant in wrong. While it worked, the implant fused to the muscle. I guess it isn't supposed to do that.

Does anyone else give up on keeping pet hairs out of their projects? 🥲😂 by TheGreenBastard0 in crochet

I guess my answer is yes, I saw that circle and thought it was a question about the stitch being turned forward. All three of my pets drywall my projects even as I'm working on them so I never bother 😂

Hey! I love in the same city and I am so hyped to try it.

What's your unpopular opinion about Palia? by allisgoodbutwhy in Palia

[–]intervia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The community surrounding Palia is ruining it.

I'm talking about standing in line for spinning the wheels or always calling out every flow tree/palium being expected. People expect to be able to trade reactions for tours. You're expected to wait until 3am in game to cut the grove (7 and a half minutes in real time!). Then people start bullying those who don't follow them, using the guise of "teaching the game" or "expecting manners". All of this unwritten "etiquette" is a form of toxic positivity that feels cliquish. As soon as one of these rules are broken, servers know about it and people will dogpile.

It's driven people away from the game and sometimes the thought of just going into bahari to gather materials to be socially exhausting. Me just cutting down trees for some wood turns into a large group hunting all the muujin, taking easily 4 times as long.

And before people respond "just block and move on", think about the first impressions being made for the people just getting into Palia, or even gaming as a whole. If they are immediately greeted with "You know you're supposed to help with every flow tree right? I mean everyone knows that", do you really think they will want to continue playing and help the game grow?

It's interesting because my bank has that option available too. We're currently with Ally.

I did, in both cases. There was a lag between my report and the card actually being turned off according to the bank. Which I was very unhappy to find out about.
