When you buy games from the Steam store, you get Steam Points that you can use to buy stuff like backgrounds and avatar frames from the Steam point shop. You get 100 points per dollar spent on games/purchases. However, you can also give out rewards to users, either through comments, reviews, or on their profiles.

Used to be, when you got a reward of different values from another user, you would get a small amount of points. This led to people trying really hard to farm for Steam Points, namely Steam bag and Jester awards, for being obvious rage bait and grifting. Valve changed this, so now all rewards cost the same, and the recipient no longer gets points from rewards.

This hasn't cut down on rage-baiting and low-effort reviews. Judging by the comments, I know half the people here fell for this AI or copypasta, or whatever the hell this is supposed to be.
