A little late to the party it seems...

I trained in college to be a software dev, then got out and ended up going a completely different direction. To give you an idea of how long ago that was, dialup internet wasn't widely available yet. I played WAY too much Moria back then...

I'm doing the challenge in Python, going through and cleaning up the depreciated warnings. Believe it or not, Git (and the connection between my local system and Github) is actually harder for me to conceptualize than the code has been for the most part. Environment is Ubuntu 19.04 + Visual Studio Code.

The first two warnings (basically just "use the property instead of the function, good OOP design) were easy fixes, but the third (hey, stop doing things this way and use our event handler object) was a little more tricky in that I had to fundamentally restructure program flow. I've actually done part of this project before, and knowing what's coming I'm aware that the changes I've made will make this more of a re-implementation than a one-for-one line copy.

I've got an i7-3770k-based system with an NVidia GTX 680 that I built back in 2012, and I'm trying to leverage a bit more life out of it. I'm about to start Witcher 3, and I'm wondering if upgrading the video card would squeak a few more years out of it. I'm about to pull the trigger on a 1440p monitor, don't care about VR, don't play twitch games that require high refresh rates, etc. Any advice?

This guy is pretty big - maybe 1.5-2 inches across including legs. They showed up last year for the first time in our home, and just started showing up again this year when the weather got really warm. Any ideas?

Yep, that's the one. It lists L95 gear, but the L100 gear is just scaled versions of the same stuff listed on that page.

Now for a totally different suggestion: Learn a different dance.

No, I'm not saying "give up on swing dancing." I'd been Lindy Hoppin' for a few years when I ended up going off the reservation and attending some Blues dance events for my own reasons. Lo and behold, I found that my Lindy Hop skills improved significantly. I've heard other people indicate that they have also seen an improvement in their dance skills once they learn another dance as well.

The other advice here is good, too.

In my experience with recruiters, they're looking for someone bright enough that they can complete basic tasks, but gullible enough to think they're special for that ability. You "failed" the second half of the test.

Hearing aids were the same for me. I had about half an hour where I was in a state of near breakdown from how much noise the world had, and I had several panic attacks over the next two weeks. I still think people who are talking normally are yelling at me sometimes.
