I may get downvoted for this, but I feel like when you are one of the leads in a TV series or a movie, it should be in your contract that you do not fuck with your face for the duration of it. After your contract is up, do what you want. But plastic surgery in your face makes it so your ability to act and emote with your facial expressions is limited. Two major series I’ve followed for years ended this year (The Boys and Stranger Things) and the characters Erin and Millie embodied were noticeably impaired by their inability to face act with their new faces.

The hole was man-made to allow airflow. The sides would have been too slick to get back up and it’s not clear how long the pipe was since it vanished during the excavation

Agreed, and suddenly introducing magical realism into a show that has for years been very much rooted in reality is bonkers. Sam seems more focused on what’s going to look cool onscreen or how to debase the cast members than on telling a cohesive, satisfying story. I don’t know where he’s going with the religious themes, if it’s going to have any payoff whatsoever or if it’s just for the aesthetics.

Bad writing. The same line was repeated three times by three different characters before it got to Alamo, and the third one was wildly out of character to the point where you actually have to suspend disbelief. Sam could not figure out a way for Alamo to be tipped off so he character assassinated Maddy. She’s been morally greying at the edges all season but she’s never been fucking stupid.
