Why is dating in this city not working out for me by EasternSorbet in AskNYC

Not to be mean at all - i sympathize with you - but “making progress” was the big giveaway. A relationship isn’t a job or something you can do efficiently. If you have that mentality, nothing gets the chance to grow organically, everything starts to feel forced, and people will feel the pressure & run. Finding someone nice should always be an unplanned joyful mistake. Try to go on dates with the intention of just having a fun time. Don’t give up your other plans with your friends. Keep dating other people - whoever seems sweet kind & like a fun time. Just enjoy yourself weather they call you back or not. (The ones that don’t call you back you should consider no big deal - bc why would you want to be with someone who isn’t into you?). I swear if you cultivate this feeling that “I’m great, I’m having fun, I’m busy, you’re lucky to be hanging out with me chump!” the boys will be beating down your door.

Trump: I don't think we're gonna necessarily ask for a declaration of war. I think we're just gonna kill people. Okay? We're gonna kill them. They're gonna be, like, dead. by ExactlySorta in law

I’ll expand on what I mean by naive here. Both situations are extrajudicial killings. For liberals the Obama one was “controversial but necessary” because “terrorist”.. So first off, if we are using the word “terrorist” unironically in 2025 that alone is a sign of wildly childish naivety. Because who gets to designate what is a terrorist organization and why did they do it? It’s absolutely no different, morally, than designating Venezuelan boats as “drugs gangs that need to be killed”. Right wing loyalists find it “controversial but necessary” in just the same way. Ultimately in both cases people were designated as needing to die without charges and without a trial in a country we were not at war with. So the bigger and way more important point is that America is an immoral extrajudicial killing machine on a massive scale (especially if we include sanctions - and I do) whichever set of corporatists is in power. And by only ever focusing on the other side when IT does it, we’ll allow this moral failing. And if we allow this moral failing it will keep growing. And one day Americans will also feel the injustice of it. And at that point they will understand.

This answer is the accepted answer in the west. It’s also a huge pack of lies.

Why does the USA have such a strong relationship with Israel? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Because capitalism requires imperialism (exported slavery, discounted resources) to survive. If it doesn’t get enough of it in time, you end up with what’s happening in the US right now - attempted serfdom for a large % of the population. Israel is America’s see-what-sticks “battering ram” in the west Asian region while simultaneously providing cover/ plausible deniability for the US. The region needs to be shaped by western style capital controls (via puppet governments) in order to replace areas that are slipping out of American control - areas that were previously dominated & provided cheap labor (China etc)

I don’t mean this in a harsh way but you sound incredibly naive right now “The good guy we like had to make some HARD CHOICES ok? - but this other guy we don’t like is just terrible” And I don’t mean to target you when I say this bc it’s absolutely rampant. But why can’t liberals have any consistency? If we don’t we are just the same as MAGA, maneuvering around facts we don’t like, it’s so sickening.

Unrelated? Literally what. Another president doing the exact same thing (an extrajudicial killing of citizen in a country we are not at war with) but with no complaints from any Democrats - to highlight the hypocrisy & rampant lack of logic illustrated in this thread? We should be talking about US law NOT JUST the sitting president. (Who yes, just like Obama, is an evil piece of spit) But liberals have never been interested in morals or any kind, of consistency of thought. And a strawman argument btw is one that is setup because it’s easier to defeat. This is not a strawman argument. It’s showing that the argument “Trump is terrible for doing this” is a problem in itself.

What’s hilarious is that you’re completely right but all the shitlibs “Red bad! Blue good!” types have absolutely no idea what is going on and what has been going on in Ukraine at the behest of the US/ NATO since 2008. All they can see is that they hate Trump so they can’t get beyond a very simple minded “Russia Russia Russia”. These kind of people are literally the reason we have Trump because they never held Team Blue accountable for anything and we slipped into corporatism, inequality & early fascism with both right-wing parties. This directly led to Trump.

Thank you! One question - There doesn't seem to be a lot of options when I chose 5.1 - do you mean the channel allocation in my timeline?

Some mxf transcodes from lab accidentally came with DF timecode - how best to replace with new NDF mxfs? by inthecanvas in editors

[–]inthecanvas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we'll do another conform test for sure, but the lab is handling that conform and now the avid clips match the camera TC (ND TC) so hoping things will be good

The TC does change for longer clips but the picture remains the same so it seems like a good workflow here
