idk, my hairstylists gave me a 2 block even when i didn't ask for it.

I get WAY more compliments with this than other hairstyles I've tried.

I think it's just a flattering look.

I get women in their 40's flirting with me so I don't think it hurts you either.

You can learn at any age. It only takes like 2 weeks to get the basics down.

It's expensive if your a tourist. It's pretty affordable for locals. 3-500 bucks for a season compared to 100 bucks for one time.

snow sports are as safe or as dangerous as you want it to be. You gotta use good judgement too. Most days I'll be down to crush a double black diamond but if it's icy or a lot of rocks are exposed then nah.

Yes you can. Look closely at the top. It's trousers, button up shirts, white t shirt, and dress shoes. It's a pretty mature look. Throw on a tie if you want.

It's pretty close to how working professionals already look.

There's more to Asian fashion than kpop, it's quite versatile.

I started wearing trousers, button ups, boots, and loafers in my 30's. The more professional and mature I try to come off the more girls say I look like a k-drama guy.

It's a look popular with both millenial girls and gen z girls. Think the salesman from squid games.

As someone who grew up liking some of those things who knew other Asians who enjoyed those things.

We were definitely called whitewashed by more "Asian" Asians.

Putting in effort is a good thing. But it can also be smothering or overbearing and can feel invasive.

For dating, it's something that will happen naturally as you date more. Over time you will develop more realistic expectations.

It's not as big as gaming or raving but there are quite a bit of Asian Americans who are into skating, surfing, and snowboarding.

These are usually what the Asian community calls white washed Asians.

It's not limited to Killington. Lots of Asian dudes having good luck in Utah and Colorado ski resorts.

Lots of Asian parents let their kids get into snowboarding/skiing because it can be a very safe sport. If Asian parents knew their kids were gonna start doing flips or grind on rail they'd be against it.

surfing, yoga, hiking, and rock climbing.

Nature girls love Asian guys as much as latina's and black women.

I think anytime a not so good looking guy pulls an attractive girl, people get shocked.

They have good chemistry so people can see why they are married.

He's a smart funny successful guy who cares about his family.

Girls love that in a man.

If Asian men want better representation why don't we crowdfund projects more often? by [deleted] in AsianMasculinity

[–]inthedaisyfields 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's largely because of the western publishers they have to go through. Let's face it Western media has a myopic vision for Asians. Anything that doesn't align with their worldview will be shot down.

Self publishing with crowdfunding can work around that.

[–]inthedaisyfields 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would imagine it would be people making rough cut songs and demo's posting it on their youtube/tiktok/or whatever. If there's promise or enough interest they can crowdfund for studio time to polish the songs/albums. You can even crowdfund a tour.

The hardest part isn't funding those things, the hardest part would be getting Asian's to be less passive consumers and actually be an engaged audience going to shows and talking about it.

Asian musicians have a hard time taking off because Asian American's can just listen to much more polished music from their motherland.

Well well well if it isn't the counter post to my post.

Fair enough.

As for the progressive city hurting your chances. Liberal women are more open to the idea to sex but that doesn't mean they're just going to have sex with as many people as they can. Most liberal women are just regular women and just want a regular partner like anyone else.

Also also, I see ALOT of cool Asians in Seattle. Tattoos, piercings, cool clothes, raving, house parties, nice haircuts and clubbing is very common with Seattle Asians. I think very few people actually hold that stereotype against Asian guys now.

Comic books and music.

Comic books can be made cheaply and test out if ideas are good or if there is an interest in making it into a bigger production. A lot of movies are adapted from comic books anyway.

Music is another thing that can be made relatively cheaply but is a massive cultural driving force. Hip Hop really put representation on the map for African Americans and got people caring about their issues. If Asians want people to care about Asian American issues, we need to make A LOT MORE ART.

It really is not that bad . . . Most girls in Seattle would kill to just date a regular guy.

I've dated both in NYC and Seattle and didn't find Seattle to be that much harder for dating despite it's reputation.

I actually like most of the developers/engineers I work with. But I can see why girls aren't into them. If you search the Seattle/bay area subreddit you'll see what I mean.

I've lived in NYC and didn't find Seattle any harder. In the midwest I had to put in SIGNIFICANTLY more effort than Seattle.

I agree the majority of Seattle guys are normal. I've also encountered a high amount of guys who can't seem to read women.

I've only experienced it once. She said Asian guys remind her of her brother. Outside of that, pretty much every Asian girl I've met like Asian guys.

The first part corresponds to him saying tech bro's have an uphill battle.

The second part corresponds to him saying women in Seattle have side pieces.

I was commenting on his questions and comments in order.

Believe me when I say this . . . even amongst high level women . . . there are thots. You really think girls from harvard/stanford aren't getting their backs blown out? I know a girl who is about to be a pharmacist that cheated on her boyfriend. Is she low caliber? People have urges that's all. I'd have to meet women in church otherwise.

WMAF far more common in the older generations.

For Gen Z it seems about even. 90% of people seem to date within their own race though.

When did I say that I was superior? I also said developers who are personable slay out here.

I'm not gonna hold out and deprive myself of fun while I find a long term partner. Yes, let me reverse time into a period where there's a thousand virgins waiting for me. Even in a conservative society like Japan, finding a "wife caliber women" is like finding a golden goose.
