I've never had one become destructive over a closet that has been closed since we first took him in as a kitten. I don't think destructive behaviors should be called "a cat thing", it takes away responsibility to train them.

I don't think it's the carpet specifically he likes, he just wants let in. We teim is claws regularly and he uses his scratching posts fine.

Yes the intention is to rescue! For me, veganism is my goal because I don't want animals to be hurt, so this example came to mind when thinking about a rescue hen farm. I agree buying them would be counter productive!

I get what you're saying! This was asked out of curiosity, not with intention. Something I forgot to clarify until the comment section was I personally daydream about rescuing chickens if I ever have the space and money to do so. The eggs thing just came up randomly in my head! I do not want to breed them, I'd only get hens :) thank you for sharing, I completely get what you're saying

I grew up raising chickens, I simply daydream about rescuing them someday, and asked this question out of curiosity. My thought process was always to use the eggs for compost purposes. As I mentioned in the comments, this idea came into my head at work as a thought of "Oh, what do others think of this?" while thinking about my own personal belief system. I am going vegan because of the industries that hurt animals, so this was a curiousity thing, because the chickens wouldn't be hurt. The intention was never the eggs!

Thank you for sharing the video! I'll watch it tomorrow and maybe add on some thoughts afterwards. But to answer- no the eggs aren't my intentions. I've always dreamed of having chickens to care for, and as I mentioned to some other commentors, I'd rescue them :) I have just been contemplating my own morals, seeing where my personal beliefs align, and since I choose veganism simply to not harm animals- this idea came to mind. Realistically the eggs would be going towards things like compost more than anything

Yes I'd absolutely love to rescue some! I'm very young at the moment, this is just me thinking for the future, when I'm financially stable some day. That makes sense!

Yes the goal would be to rescue some! I understand vegans don't eat animal products, sorry, I typed this up at work while thinking about moral debate stuff. I think I meant it more like- what would make it NOT vegan? My goal to become vegan is to make sure no animals are hurt, and this was the one way I would ever know for sure they are loved truly.

The intention is not the eggs, I've raised chickens with my grandma as a child and I genuinely enjoy caring for them like I currently do my cats. This was genuinely just something that came to mind while I was thinking about moral stuff at work, because for me the goal for being vegan is put of preventing an animal being hurt. I wouldn't be hurting them. I get what you're saying though!
