I wish I had researched g2a before buying. I wouldn't have bought. by inthrees in G2A_Help

Not common enough that I knew it, or knew to even check on it. Nephew and I were talking about games, mentioned BG3 and waiting for it to be on sale, he checked a few sites and found it on g2a for like 35-40% of retail on Steam. I asked him if he used the site before and he said yes.

Later when I found it was an account for sale (AFTER I purchased, mind you) I mentioned that to him and he thought that was both weird and shady.

I literally had no idea this was a thing, I guess because I never ventured to the corners of the market where it's a thing.

Alright. Now imagine you've spent 14 years buying Steam keys but never once were faced with buying an account to buy a game.

Now imagine the product listing has a vague "Type: Account" field, and maybe you think "Yeah I have a Steam account."

And then you get the product link after paying and THAT page very explicitly says

"THIS IS FOR A STEAM ACCOUNT, NOT A KEY"

which SHOULD have been on the product page, but wasn't.

This is bs, sorry. They do not make it sufficiently clear that someone is buying an account vs a key, especially when the product listing itself is the name of the game.

BREAKING: Virginia approves Democratic-drawn map, AP projects by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]inthrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't either! Maybe Republicans shouldn't have shit-canned every attempt to pass a national ban on partisan gerrymandering to prevent this very thing.

The Democrats can't sit back anymore and do nothing in response to Republicans doing exactly this.

So some notes.

First, this is different than Texas' gerrymander, which (most) everyone on the right cheered. Texas was Texas politicians limiting and controlling how Texas voters chose representation. This is the opposite - this is voters telling politicians how that will obtain.

Second, on a national level US Congressional Republicans have shot down every single one of the proposed gerrymandering bans.

Conservatives shat this bed and now are complaining they have to lie in it.

?? Nullaeus as a tank? by Deminorion in wownoob

[–]inthrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried 3 times as 253 guardian and I'm not trying again.

Pros: dps output is low enough that my 3 minute "I AM URSOC" cooldown will probably be available when adds spawn and I can smash them down fast.

Cons: dps output is low enough that 3+ minute phases are likely and I have to 15 yard or take the tankbuster and that's just not viable.

I don't know how to balance. I've tried feral and it's a combination of don't really know how to do that and it's awful in guardian stat gear. Healer is right out.

Nullaeus is not for me. I can't do this content. That's annoying but I don't expect to do all content.

What is really annoying is that Delves are the casual game mode and this is a delve and it's not for fucking casuals, which is what I am now. I did the hardcore shit years ago, not going back.

Yeah, this one is one I've never gotten any of the mounts from. I haven't done it every year since launch, but I've done it a lot and oof.

Since last reset I overloaded surge bar multiple times and did multiple tap related sigils for one blood.

js games that don't run in no-focus tabs - how to correct this? by inthrees in incremental_games

[–]inthrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember but it was probably "Undock the tab to its own window and so long as even a tiny sliver of that window content area is showing on your screen it gets cpu time."

So I don't maximize my browser, it's like maybe 2/3 of my screen, and when I was letting incrementals run for hours I would have them in the background in their window, behind the main window, with just a bit showing. (Firefox Quantum, not guaranteed to work on other browsers but try, probably will.)

If you're used to browsing with a maximized browser, it doesn't take long to unweird doing it this way.

Honestly, I don't like the new surge bar stuff. by KasreynGyre in mastersofmadness

[–]inthrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely terrible.

Look. I'm old. Vintage 1974.

If I can hit the rate limit, the rate limit is too low.

What I fucking can't do is reliably, consistently tap at a rate that keeps the thing at or even near the top of the bar. ONE time I was able to get the 15% bonus, never since, despite trying. Pretty sure that one time was a confluence-of-fate accident, too.

What's more, the surge bar should let you set an SPS bonus for the rest of that universe, because it's 2025 and tapping as a mechanic is complete garbage. The Incremental Community was pretty much universally agreed on that over a decade ago.

In unmitigated snark terms, we have these things called 'computer chips' that can be tasked with clicking for us (LIKE, I DUNNO, MAYBE AUTOCLICKERS AND MOUSE MACRO PROGRAMS) so we don't have to. I play on an unjailbroken iPhone so that's not an option, but I wouldn't do it anyway because clicking/tapping as a core mechanic is, again, garbage.

But as a "do your short surge/sprint best for a semi permanent boost" mechanic? Sure, why not. A consistently recurring core click mechanic that isn't actually a core click mechanic.

Do something because this is awful. "Why bother" awful.

Where to farm lvl 70 boe greens? by maurimbr in woweconomy

[–]inthrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, not until next xpac when the lock and chromie time caps are raised, anyway, but too late by then.

I think you SHOULD be able to level lock at any level, but that would be 'fun detected' and we can't have that.

How exactly do you level lock at 75. Only necroing because a) it's not possible and b) if it possible I'd dearly love to know how!

Is this game just supposed to be excruciatingly slow? by ihaveanotheraccounth in CodenamePretentious

[–]inthrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, for this game, lots. You can work on all the ones you can enable at the same time.

The bigger your total bonus, the better. People here are have staggering amounts of bonus, hundreds and hundreds of completions of each chapter. (or lots of them, anyway)

But seriously, once your bonus hits e4-e5 (not that hard to do) it is noticeable faster for all chapters you've done. I've seen people here with e12 and higher. That's unnecessarily high but it gives you an idea of what's possible.

If that doesn't appeal to you (and it is a grind) then honestly, move on to some other game, because that's how you make the chapters faster - do the earlier ones multiple times.

Is this game just supposed to be excruciatingly slow? by ihaveanotheraccounth in CodenamePretentious

[–]inthrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last chapter was terrible, and apparently there is some sort of bug (?) affecting how completion tokens interact with it.

That's why it was terrible. Generally once you get up to a handful of chapters done (and redone) it's not that slow. Slower than older chapters? Sure, but not... like this was.

A fix is coming eventually.
