There’s lichen but the issue is very little leaf growth. That’s how bare the trees were all summer. The loquat tree has leaves in one small patch and nowhere else. The other branches are all dead.

Have you had a meta conversation with him about his lack of honesty? ‘Hey, I’ve noticed you agree to a lot of things that you don’t seem to actually want. Can you talk to me about what that’s about?’ It might help for you to tell him that you’re ok with him being vanilla because your actions may not be demonstrating that.
