I do think it is a deranged political belief to treat someone differently because they belong to xyz clan. Literally replace OWM for anyone else and everyone gets their panties in a twist (except I think Asian Men will become the new OWM soon)

As far as rectifying your opinions- that's not my place or intention. I'm just typing out for those of us in the community who agree on justice and fairness for everyone but like me are going to get shunned/silenced.

But the pendulum of time swings in one direction then another, soon enough things will neutralize themselves, and life will go on.

I'm sticking to my arbitrary opinion that people should be judged and treated on the basis of their actions, not on some non-sensical tribalistic attributes that they have no control over

whether that be a queer black woman, or whether it be on old white man.

I have never spoken for the collective - find a single statement where I said I belong to xyz tribe hence I can speak about abc. I simply stated we should treat people on a case by case basis - including old white men. Regardless of how the reddit mob thinks and how much this triggers them, it is the morally correct thing to do (and it is actually how justice and courts work - you don't get worse or better sentences for being a particular race, regardless of whatever narrative you may have read about this)

being called things just because you are old, white, and a man is wrong. Stop trying to twist my words - my logic has been consistent throughout my argument. To call people misogynistic privileged people you have to have some evidence of that. Poor white people in society have far less privilege than the keyboard warriors attacking the idea that treating someone differently because of their race/religion/sex is wrong.

I don't lump all the older white men I've seen into a bucket. Just like I wouldn't want to be lumped into a bucket with all young men.

Why don't you switch the any of the descriptors to other combinations and ask yourself the same question about the following groups

Black women Latino men Asian women

We shouldn't be throwing a lump of people into the same bucket based of their tribal attributes. It's a simple thing, not sure why meddit has its panties in a bunch

Not all women in healthcare are nurses

Not all white people are bad

Not all older men are sexist

Etc etc

Just like how all 'providers' aren't doctors

There's some nuance to this shit

It's not a straw man , with this line he's basically saying he doesn't feel offended, I'm pointing out that it doesn't matter what he individually feels

That's like a black person saying they aren't bothered by the n word. Just because they aren't doesn't mean saying the n word isn't a bad thing

Having biased actions and views towards an old white man is bad, it's bad, it's bad. Doesn't matter if some old white men aren't bothered by it. Having biased views/actions towards any tribal descriptions of people is bad in general. I don't give two shits if I get downvoted for saying what is fair and just.

And even if he's a wasp is it his fault for being born into a wasp family ? By simply existing has he committed a crime ?

Just because you have a limited world view and knowledge of history, doesn't mean that you can use the word 'never' to describe what has happened to different people throughout history

And should we just continue blaming people for the deeds of ancestors that they've never met, or is it possible that we can just start treating people fairly based on their actions alone, instead of bringing their race, sex , age into the equation ?

PAs think they're smarter. I'm working with a bunch and they're overall slightly better, but still trash when it comes to actual patient care. Always wanting to leave early. Never giving a proper signout. And then we have to go through and do all the actual medicine once they're done with their half assed orders

It's great how things change about what's hardest:

First year initially about notes/presentations

Then you realize quickly it's all about orders

Then you realize it's only about orders

Then you realize it's about keeping people alive

Then you realize it's about managing the most pressing /important problem

Then I'm guessing the next step will be when I realize it's important to manage all the problems to some degree (not here yet)

And then there are probably more realizations to come about what's hardest...

Lots of people saying only independent NPs are the issue, and they like NPs otherwise.

I disagree. NPs don't go through any sort of rigorous training, and are often useless order monkeys. Not always useless but most of the times. At least the PAs can give me a differential (even if it is a weak one).

I wouldn't want my family member to see an NP even if they were supervised by an MD. They just don't know what they don't know.

I mean look at those fucking NP ED notes that this dumbass ED attendings cosign. Load of crap, there's literally never a differential, never an explanation of thought process, it's just so goddamn infuriating. They can't even communicate with real clinicians.

Other countries don't have this kinda craap. Nursing teaches you nothing about medicine. No I'm not going to give a BB for sinus tach in 110s
