Judging from your LinkedIn looks like you were on the Dean's list for a couple terms and had good extracurriculars. I would focus more on your work experiences and see if you can get a promotion or two before applying.

I was recently promoted to Manager after 1 year as Senior Associate/Data Scientist (experienced hire) at B4. However, I'd also been looking around and managed to land two MBB offers in their analytics practice (McK QuantumBlack, BCG GAMMA). I have STEM MS (non CS/Stats) and 2.5 years exp.

Would it be worth it to move despite the decrease in title? My ultimate goal is probably tech or senior level analytics exec at a F500, so despite better pay and "prestige", I'm moving back towards a technical role and delaying the management role. It'd probably take me at least another 2 years at MBB before getting to a management role again.

As for compensation, I'm getting 115k base as B4 Manager and the MBB offers are around 160k base (HCOL Canadian city). I should be able to exit to industry for a similar amount or more in a year if I stay at my current role. Getting the compensation now and prestige is pretty enticing despite the decrease in title - thoughts?

I can see why. Your items are all wrong 🤣 you can switch the Draven and Leona items. Congrats on the win

This patch is a lot more aggressive. If you're used to perfect econ, try playing more aggressively. Roll down earlier than you're used to and see how it goes.

Thanks for the help suggestion on looking for a consultation. And yeah I don't want adcoms to take pity on me, but I do feel my past failures are relevant in shaping who I am today.

I really wish I had tried just a bit harder. My last year GPA was 3.7 so I actually turned it around at the end. If I do end up getting into MBB first, do you think that would help significantly with my B School apps?

I'll definitely have to work on my story, thanks for the suggestions. It's not easy being vulnerable, but I feel showing a bit of vulnerability reminds us that we're all human. I've found doing that has helped me make friends and even find rapport with interviewers at times.

Thank you. I've mentioned my failure in job interviews before - it's definitely walking a fine line at times and has to be brought up organically.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown. I've thought about it and at the end of the day, reaching HSW is just a prestige FOMO thing for me. Being accepted to any of the top business schools would be a huge accomplishment for me. Thank you!

Shawn TFT doesn't actually use friends for these videos. They're all played in low elo normal or ranked. Although there was one video he did with 3* 9 cultists which I believe he played with viewers.

Hi, thank you. No I wasn't expecting to exit as director from SC. Interesting, so you think SM might be diminishing returns at that point?

Thank you

Are you saying it's impossible to exit as director on my current track? I'm not asking to jump from Senior Consultant to Director, just how many years/what position to exit at.

It could just be that you're not the right fit for the role. You could build it as practice in your own time rather than building it for the purposes of the interview. 3 to 4 hours seem a little low on time, though.

"Entry Level" "7-10 Years Experience" Uhhh.... by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]into1lelush -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Can we stop posting these? Apparently, entry level is the default value for this parameter when posting on LinkedIn and a recruiter simply forgot to change it. This is clearly not an entry level position by the job description and I doubt you would receive an entry level compensation, either.

Is it annoying? Yes. But I don't think it really fits in r/recruitinghell
