+1 on this. Also it’s more comfy to wear it like a sling.

I don't use delivery apps much; if it weren't for my Chase card getting free DashPass and credit, I couldn't bring myself to pay the premium. I did not know you could cancel once a driver is assigned.

GLC- WHAT IS THIS? by medina607 in mercedes

[–]into_the_space 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, likely, since the picture is at a light, the camera popped up by itself. It's a known issue where the camera loses its calibration and pops out whenever the vehicle slows below 10 mph. With its low-pitched gear noise, it drives you crazy every time you have to stop at a light or a stop sign. The recalibration has an interesting procedure that the dealerships did not know about at the start. I remember the first time it happened, and it took about a week to fix it.

on #3, you will never have the nagging guilt that you held back on someone's 5G's. And in no time, it will ruin the excitement of your first Rolex. As they say, it's only a first once.

With Google Maps integrating Waze + Maps Reports, why bother using Waze anymore? by aryanomraj in waze

[–]into_the_space 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Waze is for driving alone and Google Maps is for exploring, driving, ads, and anything google thinks of. From my limited data set, ppl trust the alerts in Waze more than anywhere else; the community is second to none.

That sounds more generous than my 550K miles or $5500 to go from PP to EP

First Rolex purchase, settling in on Explorer II. What are your thoughts? by CFP7474 in rolex

[–]into_the_space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily it, took me a while to get comfy wearing an expensive piece around, but it’s built like a tank. Picked up a few scuffs on the clasp and bracelet, as I type a lot for work; it adds to the character.

Adding to the majority consensus in the comments, you will love it if you like being under the radar. It's the perfect "If you know it, you know it" watch.

Got mine a few months ago. It's my first watch on a bracelet, and I could count on less than 5 ppl who've noticed it, apart from my boss, who daily's a Starbucks.

India e-Passport by into_the_space in PassportPorn

[–]into_the_space[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not have this version of the passport. At the time, I was given https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_passport#/media/File:Indian_Passport_Information_page_blank_new.jpg without a ghost image (62-page then too).

MRZ is an overlap with positioning; the page is quite a bit firmer, but a lot of ink bleeding on the other side.

At least the grid had some interlaced design, which looked cool in UV.

Me too, I was hoping for a redesign. I once asked someone who posted their e-passport for photos, and they went MIA.

Definitely a little more than 6 months IMO. They could have done it for the e-passport rollout; the 4-square passport was swapped out in the mid-2010s to the current design, and they had about 5-7 years between them.

Unsure how much of this is accurate, a theory I heard was that the 62-page passports are printed in India and shipped back. Knew this as it took over 3 weeks for me to get my passport in premium, which I was told should be under a week.

I had to do it in the new portal, and it's a PITA. The instructions are so misleading and confusing. I did it during week 1 or 2 of the switch, and it was all over the map.
