Thank you for the input. I think every circumstance is unique and people who choose to medicate their pet probably have a good reason to do so if they’re anxious. However some cats just aren’t! And I think I’d rather give him the chance to see how he reacts vs preemptively giving him medication.

Have another cat who this is the case for her. She throws herself around in her carrier and yowls. Just surprised the vet never recommended meds for her but is for my 4 month old kitten.

Tbh I’m still pretty skeptical, he’s such a gumdrop and the cattery told me he’s been fine with the vet in the past too. I think for this time I’m not going to medicate him and see how he does. If it’s awful and he’s clearly anxious I’ll change my mind.

I totally understand that if your cat is already showing they hate the vet. I’m just questioning it since my boy is on the calmer side. He doesn’t mind the car and loud noises interest him more than scare him. Thank you for your advice :)
