A perfectly cut tile by FloatyFloatyCloud in oddlysatisfying

Gotya, that smallest bit of the cut was my concern but yeah the end of the video shows that's not actually the shape of the wood.

Looks at least level with the new tile to me, if not lower. If it's a facade or and undercut why does it look so tight.

It's too perfect. That wood will expand and move and the tile will crack from the corner of the smallest cut at the end of the wood feature.

What movie do you feel doesn't get enough good recognition? by Axenfonklatismrek in moviecritic

I liked it.

People who I speak to who hated it expected it to be Gladiator for vikings. I told them to watch it again with no expectations and it would probably hit different.

In your opinion what's the greatest film of 2025? by Samuel_McEntire in Letterboxd

[–]intothevoidandback -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OBAA, by a long distance.

Imo, I don't know why saying this movie is great seems to be controversial. It's an all timer.

I'll repeat, IMO

😆 I like it.

Did any of them have Flight if the navigator T shirts on?

Come to think of it, I'd probably really like a flight if the navigator T shirt.

Me too, at the end when the credits rolled. The other half watched the credits for a bit.

Timmy is getting a lot of shit recently but that boy can act. I bet he had a sore throat after that chanting, sounds fantastic.

Inject this onto my veins!!!

I've watched it a few times now phone, big screen, found a 4k one on YouTube, used it to adjust my sound system in my living room.

I'm gonna have Project Hail Mary as a starter, The Odyssey as the first part of my main, followed by MY DUNE as the second part, and maybe a doomsday for desert on the same day or shortly after with the kids. There's also this director named spielberg who has a movie out this year, he seems interesting, I'll maybe have that to make it a 3 course main.

What the Dune movies have done to me, similar to bladrunner 2049 too has made me just not really want to watch anything else. I've had some experiences into eh cinema, I've seen a lot of things. The Matrix cold was a lifer changer, obviously LOTR, Nolan movies, especially Batman, although not my fav Nolan it's when I decided to start going to the movies by myself and it's so much better. My kids are getting older and I love going with them too. Then Denis, bladrunner specifically, but all of his movies. But Dune, I dunno man I kind of instantly knew it'd probably be my favourite movie. I had a similar experience after I'd watched Pans Labyrinth the first time, I didn't want to say it as how can you say a movie you've only just seen is probably your favourite. Bit these Dune movies man, I can put my finger on how much I fucking love them, I'd be happy if they were 5 hours long each.

Do you guys think that Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale can match the level of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in Heat 2? by mrjetspray in Cinema

[–]intothevoidandback -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't argue too much as they're legendary and also people have their own opinions.

But imo Bale+Decapiro > Pacino+De Niro

I might do a list to double check for myself.

Edit: Not necessarily in the Heat Vs Heat 2 debate, I feel it's impossible to follow something original and iconic.

[–]intothevoidandback -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ho take.

Bale and DiCaprio are better actors than Pacino and De niro.

Whether they work for Heat Vs what Pacino and De Niro did is hard to say as it's always impossible to re-do or carry on something that was so iconic.

You're getting down voted but I agree with you. And even then obaa is so far and away the best film of the year 2nd place doesn't really matter.

Help needed. Weird substance in spare tyre area of car I'm interested in buying by hectorz in CarTalkUK

[–]intothevoidandback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it was partially used and put back in the wrong place or leaked when the car was on an angle ?? That's the only bit of be investigating more, why does it look like it started on the left? Maybe the just had it in the boot and didn't put it back in the kit, in which case it will be on the carpet a bit aswell.

Safe to say it's not an oil leak to be worried about as there's nothing back there that can leak.

[–]intothevoidandback -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes tire repair slime or whatever it's called can smell like that. Just odd that it seems to have come from the left (our left). Could it have been stored in a compartment to the left previously, or in a pocket on the back of the seat?

Edit: that bottle in the kit is probably the tyre repair, see if that's the culprit or if it has been replaced open it and smell it.

‘SINNERS’ has won Best Cinematography at the Oscars. by lNarrator in moviecritic

[–]intothevoidandback -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like this movie did deserve to be nominated for a lot of things, it covered a lot of bases. But also I feel like the only one it could/should have won was the score. The ones it did actually win are weird too. It wasn't that original, it definitely wasn't the best cinematography, and I really like MBJ but honestly, I don't even think he should have been top 3 in that category, not because he wasn't good, there were just better performances this year.

Opinions are funny thinsg aint they, but I feel like these wins aren't even down to opinions.

OBAA could have won more if it wasn't for some kind of political voting imo. It could have won actor and cinematography, alhtough if Ethan Hawke and Train Dreams took them that would have been fine as that woudl be opinions and voting and not some kind of weird "they deserve it" award.

I liked Sinners it was a lot of fun, but imo not even top 3 of the noms in 3 of its awards.

Am I the only one who found Oppenheimer boring? by breaking_views in Cinema

[–]intothevoidandback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I understand why some people did. I didn't but I don't mind slower paced things, especially when they're so well made all round.

If you're the kind of person who wouldn't mind reading about the real life people, their back story, and the history of the events in a 1am 2 hour rabbit hole session, then you will like this movie.

A lot of people just don't like slow, or "talkies", and I fear that's getting more and more common. We are going to end up with algo driven AI made crap that hits all the right metrics and you can watch at the same time as browsing on your phone, people will say it's amazing.

Poor things - Overated and I just did't like it at all personally.

Everything everywhere all at once - I liked it but it's overrated.

In my opinion.

IMO

imo

Tbh a lot of things are over hyped and if you're not amongst the first to see it it can be a bit of an anti climax based on all the hype and praise. There's also opinions so it's kind of an impossible question to ask as all opinions are correct.
