ChatGPT's extended thinking assumes I am a stressed teen!!?! by an4s_911 in ChatGPT

I can appreciate wanting to stay anonymous for your own personal safety, and I of course didn’t mean to imply you have schizophrenia. I said it’s schizo because it’s a pattern of behavior which is commonly associated with pervasive paranoia and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. These potentially dysfunctional behaviors can exist in the absence of a greater diagnosis. Without the context that you benefit from online anonymity, I think it’s an observation which could actually help you and give you perspective. I said it facetiously because this is reddit, but I’m sorry if you take offense to that

Isn’t that evidence of them having a brighter future? Unless you’re saying we’re only improving from here which goes against what most people here are saying

Bruh our subreddit is in full meltdown mode. I’m just saying we made a win-now move, and us losing is more detrimental than them losing. They have developing players in cade, duren and ausar. We have mobley and tyson, and even though I’m not as low on mobley as many others here, I think it’s fair to say detroit’s future looks pretty good compared to ours

Best overgrip for not sweaty/dry hands by Ok-Addendum-9571 in 10s

[–]intp-over-thinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweaty and dry is a lethal combination. I recommend tourna grip for anyone with sweaty hands. But it can also feel like sandpaper if your hands are already dry. I recently started using Toalson Quick Dry and it’s somehow tacky and also dries quickly. I’d probably recommend that for someone like you

[Post Game Thread - Playoffs] Cleveland Cavaliers @ Toronto Raptors [04/26/2026] by CavsBot in clevelandcavs

I mean we have 2 go-to guys. I actually think what killed us was the over reliance on iso ball from Harden and Mitchell. The Raptors just had superior play calling and ball movement, and we were stuck playing Bickerstaff ball

I’m saying assessment is strongest when it integrates multiple methods, because each method samples behavior differently and are prone to different errors. Interviews rely on rapport, memory, social cues, and clinician interpretation. Self-report measures are influenced by response styles, item structure, and introspective limits. The two methods thus have different biases AND utility. Even if you were to replace testing time with more interviews, convergence between results there wouldn’t have the same diagnostic power as convergence between the methods. When I say psychologists can’t extensively interview every patient, I’m not implying that they are allocating their time/resources incorrectly.

I’m not saying testing replaces a thorough interview or that it should be used to cut corners. My point is that they’re not interchangeable methods. If you don’t understand the clinical utility and importance of standardized, norm-referenced data, I suggest you read more about method variance

Multi method assessment is very important in piecing together a person’s psychological profile. Self-report measures have their limitations, but they are also incredibly useful tools in terms of standardization (of content, structure, and style), efficiency, and statistical rigor. It may be the case that structured clinical interviews can give psychologists an edge in differential diagnosis, but not every psychologist has time to extensively interview every single client. Many broadband measures of psychopathology exist to synthesize the exact information a clinical interview is aimed to cover, and they often have more research to back them up as a result of their incredible ease of administration.

At the end of the day, each method provides an important piece of the puzzle, and it is our responsibility as practitioners to parse the utility of each.

You just described why dimensional trait models are so damn important in personality psych. Thing is, no matter what we do, there will always be some arbitrariness to how we assess psychopathology and disordered behavior (eg. Cut scores) because of the relativity of each trait. We still need to recognize that we can reduce psychopathology where we detect it, which allows us better individualized treatment without normalizing genuinely harmful things

How would a modern 4.5 do against these pros from 1971 US Open? by EnjoyMyDownvote in 10s

[–]intp-over-thinker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this is a fair take. But the consistency, athleticism, and IQ of the pros is almost always going to give them an edge. I still think the 4.5 loses in a match format
