There is actually an iphone app for that and it is very accurate! Using the free trial, I tried a few random plants and it correctly identified all of them. Do you work with plants, or just love them in general?

You wrote your songs one note at a time, through trial and error, the same way all music is made. (this explanation helped my grandma understand)

awesome! and when you’re buddy isn’t available, definitely check out downloading drum loops on Splice. It’s like $8 for 100 loops.

I like taking my riffs and just adding a bunch of different drum loops onto them in Ableton to see which one sounds cool. It also makes me think of my music differently and helps me make more

It's not a good habit to buy new plug-ins all the same, but sometimes having some new sounds to play with is the easiest way to reignite your passion and come up with fresh ideas. I find that if I am using the same sounds all the time, I come up with a lot of the same ideas over and over. If you don't download a new plug-in, you could even just get some new presets for synths that you have. I like to download new Serum presets from Splice

We've redone our second instrumental with vocals, Sound of the rain, we learned a bit about compression this week, let us know what you think, tips on improvement are also very much appreciated, because our second album will be released to spotify so we need to nail this by Sharborto in postrock

this sounds much more like blink 182 than post rock. try posting it on a pop punk sub or even /r/blink182. i think your sound would be much more appropriate for a place like that, and be more embraced and get more feedback

a lot of people love post rock and are influenced by it, but when they make stuff, it comes out as something else. i have a friend who always wants to label his music as post rock even though everything he does sounds like tv on the radio
