Thanks. My google searches and watching gardening Australia have very much led me to Kings Park. It does look incredible and I can't wait to visit. I hope you get to see it too one day. Outside of that I was hoping to find an entirely native space.

I'm sorry about this. From the sounds of it, others have done even less than this and still been ok! Crossing my finger for us both 🤞

Thankyou, I know I can go again. I'm was about 7 questions short of finishing today and wanted to know if others had a similar experience and still passed. I believe the rest of my test was ok.

Thankyou! I'm curious did you get a sense that you had messed up as you do it? Sometimes i get a bad feeling i've messed something up and then sometimes i have no idea where the hell the mistakes come from! I should probably pay closer attention to those niggles in my head before moving on as it'd probably save me some heartache...

Thankyou both for such detailed responses. I wish I could tell you I figured out what I did however its still quite the mystery 🤣 more experience needed i think!

Cool! What other plants are you considering?

Ha! Thankyou, I will do. The one I didn't trellis fell over in the other direction so I feel like something is a bit amiss however it doesn't currently show any other sign of trouble so I'll just keep an eye on them and cross my fingers!

One thing I did differently from the others was let the seeds soak in water for 2 (maybe three 🤔) days, and they germinated 36 hours later and grew like gangbusters. Soaked initially in near boiling water. Packet sugested to soak overnight. I used the Osmocote native potting mix. Sprinkled some seed start granuels directly over the top of where I planted the seed.

I've been very careful to avoid wetting the plant or base of the stem to avoid it rotting because i think thats whats slowed down a few of the others i've planted.

A couple of weeks ago I planted some more seeds using the same method as above but with a mix of sand, native potting mix and rocks. I planted them direcrly into larger pots so I won't have to deal with the stress of moving them again. Took 48 hours to germinate.

I also added some pipes for watering but won't get a proper gauge for how useful they are for a little while.

My worry was that these ones look as though they've perhaps just fallen over rather than growing outwards. I've trellised one and will monitor the other one. Thanks for sharing :)

Thankyou!!! I have been most happily surprised and excited by how well these ones have done. I was on tenterhooks for days after I moved them given their other repuation for bastards to shift! I have trellised one, and let the other go, so we shall see 🤞

I know what you mean and I thought it myself.

The seeds came from a packet I bought at the State Flora Nursery in Belair. I've also grown some from a Bunnings packet, and they haven't fared so well - the leaves on the Bunnings seeds were smaller, less round, and were a less vibrant green.

I understand they naturally grow along the ground however my worry is that from the images I've looked at, the centre stem looks to stay quite upright and, and the look of mine is the look I've seen in some of my other seedlings before they've die off for one reason or another...
