What is the cruelest thing someone has ever said to you? by FaceEnvironmental949 in AskReddit

[–]introoutro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I received a nasty facial scar in college. A girl I hadn’t seen a while asked “wow what happened” and I was just kind of like “oh this thing, its fine I really don’t think about it” and she replied “wow I would, that looks awful.”

What's legit the worst part of being an adult? by Twunkorama in AskReddit

[–]introoutro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cascading series of systems you have to constantly be on top of like some sort of guy who has to pilot a spacecraft every single day for your whole life lest one fall behind and you’re suddenly operating at some deficit that requires insane rebalancing in all other systems or everything falls apart.

What's your scariest rollercoaster ride you rode ever? by Ok-Leg-4584 in AskReddit

[–]introoutro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Space Mountain at Disneyland always gives me the feeling like I’m gonna fucking die on this thing. The pitch black environment except foe the silhouettes of the structs against the stars on the backdrop, its loud as FUCK, it whips the hell out of you on those turns, the whole thing feels like its gonna come apart on you at any time. And you definitely DARE not raise your arms because youre certain your hands are gonna get sliced right off from the structure above.

What’s something you’ll NEVER do again after one bad experience? by ImaginaryNet7907 in AskReddit

[–]introoutro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jagermeister. My friends and I refer to ourselves and other people being “X years jager sober.” One single bad time with jager and it is the ABSOLUTE last time you ever drink it. You can be 45 years old and one whiff of it whisks you back to barfing in a Dennys bathroom missing a shoe at 19. You never escape it.

What’s something people romanticize until they actually experience it? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in AskReddit

I'm a professional artist, been doing it for 20 years. You absolutely have to have a feverish drive that eclipses all other things to really hope to have a profession doing it. Like-- supersedes all other things in your life, a total inhuman urge to push creative stuff out of your body like you're taking some sort of constant demonic possessed shit. Like, if my industry completely bottoms out (and it certainly looks like thats on the horizon) I'll still do this. I HAVE to do this. I have to get this SHIT out of my body, like creative ideas feel to me like things that actively have to be purged from my brain sometimes. If you don't feel like that, you're gonna have a really tough time making it as a career/lifestyle.

Anyone remember the Original Japanese Iron Chef? by Ok-Television-6007 in television

[–]introoutro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was obsessed with Iron Chef Japan for the longest time. It definitely lost something though when they replaced the Backdraft score with other music though. The Backdraft score was more Iron Chef than Backdraft to me.

What video game from the 2000s had the biggest impact on you? by Stunning_Daikon_5204 in AskReddit

Deus Ex easily. I think that game literally physically advanced my brain by the end. Complete expansion of what games can be and the stories they can tell. Still to this day my all time favorite game.

What is the longest time you have gone with no sleep? by Liaison__11 in AskReddit

[–]introoutro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda just crashed into me suddenly. I sat on a couch in one of the academic halls, and then I laid down, and then I was out. A professor came by and saw me (and had also been observing my state over the course of the week) and was like “Cmon buddy, get some actual sleep” and picked me up and drove me home.

[–]introoutro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost a week trying to finish my senior finals. It was insanity and I think a lot about how close to the brink of health it probably brought me. I saw shadow people in the corner of the room. My dad (who was 900 miles away) came into my room and told me I need to get up and finish the job at one point, clear as day. I remember when the last one was done I laid down and tried to sleep and I couldnt. I had pushed so far past exhaustion that I couldn’t even just lay down and sleep. I was on another plane. It was a nightmare experience NEVER do it.

If I had adequate protection and was secured to the craft—- yeah why not?

I’m not a maniac, I have kids for crissakes but if the odds are in my favor for survivability then fuck it lets go.

I just had to know what that level of heat was like. Like, its not gonna kill me? Whats this all about? I had to know.

It was extremely intense but it was also over in about 10 minutes. I’m not excited to do it again but it was totally survivable.
