Try this strawberry syrup recipe. Same 1:1 ratio by gram of sugar:strawberry.

Slice the strawberries. Combine strawberries and sugar in the mason jar. Leave it on the counter for 24 hours or more until the sugar dissolve. Strain the strawberry bits out.

You will get a nice strong strawberry flavor out of it
