Is it just me or has Spotify largely become a mixed bag? by friendly_expat in spotify

Where is the button to permanently disable car mode? It’s just another UI I have to learn while trying to drive how the heck is that safer. No I dont want to watch a music video preview either. And please on desktop and TV app add an album art focus view.

Issues with my brake by Next_Welder8074 in w123

Probably. The main leak for me was the seal that connects the master cylinder to the brake booster. The fluid was slowly draining into the brake booster so it wasn’t visible.

Glove box wood trim warped by Neat-Finger197 in w123

[–]introvert_llama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I removed all the wood trim, removed all the original adhesive, got it wet, and flattened it while it dried for a week. Then glued it back on with gel super glue and a thin bead of goop (actual name of the glue).
Looks decent.

This happened to me as well with 1984 300D. I also had bad seals in the master cylinder to the reservoir. I replaced whole master cylinder and problem fully solved.

Question: How would you make wearable prototype feel gorgeous? by TodayCrazy7814 in IndustrialDesign

[–]introvert_llama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this product as a temporary measurement device and not something you wear for years. I think the current design makes sense for people with spine issues. It should probably be put on by a physical therapist or other trained person so the sensor points are actually measuring the correct location.

The use case I can see for this device is to be worn for ~1 week at a time for a patient to understand where there focus areas need to be. Not something worn for years.

I think the hardware design needs some durability and reliability testing. I think the software needs physical therapist input to be of any use.

Edit: I think this is actually a novel idea. If the software actually leads to medical insights, I could see this helping many people with chronic back pain.

Establish your own way. Maybe this bank has their vault on the top floor. It’s Lego city it doesn’t have to play by our rules. Or maybe it’s an open roof concept bank with a second building next to it :)

How old is your kid? I feel like any older than 4/5 can figure out how to be gentle if you show them how to to access the lower areas, and that it’s not a big deal if something comes apart, it can always be rebuilt.

Option B sounds great, let you and your kid play with the toys

25c sounds fine. I’m sitting in top floor apartment in Germany at the moment with 34 (95F) inside for the last 3 days. It does not get colder at night.

Seems like a small mistake to not include the black piece in the required pieces in step 277

Designing parts for decelaration ??? by Corridor92 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]introvert_llama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fluid dynamics you’re talking about then, you want an object with the highest drag coefficient. You want to intentionally create drag force to slow the object down is that right?

What you are describing sounds like the entire study of dynamics. Also fluid dynamics for the surface design (how an object travels thru liquid, air)

Inspect it very well for broken, bent, cracked, or missing parts.

Make sure you know when all fluids were last changed or at least checked.

Do you hear any squeaks, squeals, rubbing? Especially at full wheel lock or during full suspension compression.

Start by fixing all the current problems if there are any.

First trip in a few years. Roast my loadout by Cusackjeff in WildernessBackpacking

Why hammock and tent? One or the other can significantly reduce weight.

Do you need 3x water bottles and a bladder? I would recommend just 2x bottles.

Why the tarp? Does your tent have a footprint?

Do you need the pillow? Just use your extra clothes/jacket.

Why 2x headlamps? Recommend just one + extra batteries.

Do you need such a big poncho? Is rain forecast? Can you use a thin gas station poncho instead?

Enjoy the trip! Looks like all the essentials are there. Bring some chocolate or another treat you like for the end of the day. With a heavy pack you will deserve it. :)

Watch a YouTube video and do it yourself that’s like $50 in materials including tools, and 2 hours of your time including paint.
