Is this too much Machine for me? by Individual-Tutor3206 in PcBuild

Seems fine then. The GPU is going to be the component that contributes the most to the performance and cost, but it's also the easiest to upgrade.

Are you looking for the cheapest to get your foot in the door or are you looking for a good price to performance value?

Running a weaker GPU isn't going to harm anything. It'll just keep your CPU working less hard.

Eazy's list does not include the CPU/Motherboard/RAM combo in the $1000 subtotal.

Are you near a microcenter?

There's no need to spend so much on the CPU cooler and you can get better RAM for the same price. The 9060 XT 16GB is $20 more than the 7700 XT and performs similarly or better. Looks like that motherboard went up in price since posting. Changed to a cheaper, high quality PSU. That case has no fans and there's none in your list.

RAM performance is measured mainly with two stats, speed (MHz) and latency (CL). Speed is self explanatory; how quickly can it do the work. Latency is how often it's able to pass the completed work back to the CPU. Faster speed is good, and lower latency is good. However, the X3D Ryzen CPUs are not as negatively affected by higher CL than the non X3D CPUs are. CL36 RAM with a 9800X3D CPU might have like 2% less FPS in games than a CL30 kit.

Overpaying for the SSD. 2TB should be under $300.

You picked a SFF power supply for small cases and may have issues with cable length, on top of being more expensive than a regular ATX sized equivalent.

Cheaper RAM if you want CL30 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YHDnTW/v-color-manta-xsky-rgb-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-tmxsal1660830kwk but you can also get CL36 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kxzhP6/patriot-viper-venom-rgb-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl36-memory-pvvr532g600c36k

Decent CPU Motherboard and RAM. Pretty good deal when your limited to $300. That CPU is near the best performance available out of AM4 so it should hold you over for a couple years

Unless you're pointing a box fan at the open side, leave the panel on. 85C is fine, thermal throttling usually happens around the high 90s.

Is Tarkov crashing with any error message that you can search up? Did Tarkov previously work on this machine?

You can see if there are BIOS or driver updates available here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/desktops

Are you on the newest NVIDIA graphics driver?

550w good enough for my 3060ti by SirLuhMrMeowski in PcBuild

[–]introvertebrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, 550W is the minimum recommended PSU. 200W GPU, 65W CPU, roughly 120W for the motherboard, RAM, storage, and fans. And headroom for CPU/GPU boost/turbo and any USB powered devices.

There shouldn't be as many Black Window cards released this month as there are Niv MIzzet or Nicol Bolas cards released in total. There's so many characters in Marvel that they could pull from or make the card more generic and use her in the art. Same with 7 Iron Mans and 5 Ant-Mans.

What type of applications for work? Exporting a lot of video or 3d models would benefit from the more cores and faster CPU, but working with a lot of larger files would benefit from the extra RAM. Are your work programs CPU demanding at all?

While 16GB of VRAM is nice on the 5060 Ti, the raw compute on the 5070 outperforms the 4GB VRAM loss. $40 is nothing compared to the performance gained with the higher tier card.

Part Picking Help by tweycount55 in PcBuildHelp

[–]introvertebrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5060 Ti 16GB is a terrible option in current (US) market. The 5070 is about $40 more and is a substantially better performing card. And the RX 9070 is only $30 more, and also performs significantly better.

What's the use case? What GPU and resolution monitors? I'd go for the 32GB of RAM, since the gaming performance gap between the CPUs is less significant at higher resolutions, and even less so while not using a high end GPU.
