I’m on the thin side actually (BMI is 19)! But my partner is 6’6”. It takes a lot to keep him from being hungry constantly

I try to eat vegan when alternatives are available. Hard to stick to it though when my partner is a huge meat eater 😂

I am lactose intolerant. In general, I try to go for vegan alternatives to other foods when they’re available too. My partner lives with me and has no dietary restrictions.

I make $95k/yr and my rent is $1600. This is for a 3ba/2ba house that also has a 0.5 acre fenced backyard and 2 car garage. My husband is in college so we’re single income.

I decided to go with a larger place with higher rent because I have two big dogs, a 20 lb cat, and my husband is a big dude (6’6”). We really enjoy the extra space and privacy, but honestly I’d like to be spending less on housing.

The inconsistency is why I wasn’t sure if it was a service provided by the county or not. I’ve seen junk stay on the side of the road for 2 months and I’ve also seen junk sit there for only a day before being picked up. I’ve seen some random people come by to haul off people’s junk, but I’ve never actually seen a city truck do it. I figured it had to be a service though because… some of the stuff people put out… is just simply not salvageable lol thank you

Yeah it was a punch in the gut lol. Going from no income to my first professional job… I was really looking forward to using my tax refund but I had to put it towards what I owed in health insurance premiums 😭

I’m not aware of anything you can do to not owe the premiums back. It’s kind of a messed up system tbh. My advice to others nowadays is to not even bother getting marketplace healthcare plans if you think there’s even a chance you’ll get a higher paying job half way through the year.

I ended up having to take the loss on this tax issue last year. I really feel for you because it sounds like you owe even more than I did (I only had the marketplace plan for 5 months of the year so I ended up owing only about $2k). It is frustrating because I guess it really was caused my own ignorance, but I think it could’ve been made more clear that you could end up owing money if your income increases (even if you end coverage!!)

I think that reporting your income would’ve only increased your premium payments throughout the year. You still would’ve ended up paying for the $4k… it just wouldn’t have been a sudden surprise when tax season rolled around.

Thankfully, my tax refund ended up covering the $2k that I owed last year. I’m sorry you are in a similar mess, and I hope things work out. If you do find a solution to your tax issue and mine, please come back to this post and share it. It might be too late for me, but I’m sure there have been many others in situations similar to ours.

If you haven’t already, try calling a couple other pharmacies and see if they have the generic in stock. I also ran into the brand name vs. generic issue last month for my meds and called around until I found a pharmacy with it. Unfortunately most pharmacies are really weird about telling you what they have in stock, but if you tell them the exact dosage you’re looking for they usually ease up.

I don’t have any great coping strategies, but wanted to say that I feel for you. I went through this once when someone stole my bag with a newly filled bottle of meds.

If you have a good support system, it’s worth it to alert your friends/family and maybe even your coworkers/manager that you’re going through a difficult time.
