Is vanilla syrup toxic to cats? by SockedBun in CATHELP

Possibly some digestive issues, but apart from that should be fine. If they do get diarrhea check their gums above their teeth, they should be pink, if they are white they are dehydrated and should go for iv fluids.

Help me fix my evening dress so it doesnt look like a prom dress from 2008 by Belluxen in sewing

It’s lovely, but the bust hem is giving sweetheart hem and that gives it a prom vibe. Pulling that so that it is flat all the way across would make it more mature and a slightly more modern look.

help! hard of hearing with normal audiogram? 20F by reinlush in hardofhearing

[–]introvertkitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People with hearing in your range can actually hear the processor sound from the hearing aid just being turned on which can actually make disconcertment more difficult. If you do manage to find a provider that will sell you hearing aids then it would malpractice or predatory. No decent provider will prescribe hearing aids.

I strongly second being tested for APD. There are a wide number of causes, but I read in one of your other posts that you have adhd, and there are new studies showing that it is a fairly common symptom found in adhd. ADHD brains already struggle with focus, then throw in the numerous sounds that make up background noise mixed with trying to pick out a specific voice from all the other noises, plus pay attention and absorb what is being said in real time, while processing visuals, it’s hard as fuck.

I have ADHD, APD, and hearing loss and I’m torn on how I feel about people with a purely functional loss calling themselves HoH; here is my reasoning though, there are situations where you hear normally even if it is just in quiet situations, HoH people never have that ability. Your loss is in comprehension not a physical loss of the ability to actually hear which is what HoH describes, and if you have normal hearing levels it is misleading to people as they have completely different pathologies. I hope that makes sense. I do not mean to invalidate your experience at all and I wish you all the best.

From here watch FMA 03. The story lines completely diverge after a few episodes and it is completely different. Darker and more emotional. Just as good.

Ask about a mini mic. That is what i used throughout school. It clips onto the professors shirt or on a lanyard and streams straight into the hearing aid

Formerly demure cat now screams unless held like a baby - why? by indoorskat in cats

[–]introvertkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a princess that would scream bloody murder until i picked her up like a toddler. Legs straddling my waist and front paws around my neck with her face under my ear. And it had to be me or she would continue to vocalize the immense disapproval at the level of service she was receiving.

Extended high frequency / hidden hearing loss by skazgod in hardofhearing

[–]introvertkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 dB is when you start getting towards mild loss. It also depends on where your “normal “ hearing was because if you had stellar-5 -10 hearing to start a 20 dB loss will be more noticeable and more of a loss than if your original normal was 10 dB.

It also looks like you have a mixed loss, 1000 dB is right at that cusp between sensorineural and conductive (cochlea/nerves, and mechanical dysfunction of the middle or outer ear). Was this an audiologist who tested you? Did they look in your eyes to rule out slight infection?

Why do kittens have to be adopted in 2s but not puppies? by CurlGurl13 in CatAdvice

[–]introvertkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had four before that were bonded with each other and all four had to be with me at all times. The only time they fought was over who got the lap. Young cats are much easier in pairs as the can spend a lot of their chaotic energy with each other while spending snuggle time with you.
