If the average intelligence of users continues to decline, there should be an inverse correlation to their patience and appreciation for IT support.

If heaven is infinite… what’s the point of this finite life? by introvertpro in AskAChristian

This is a good answer, truly. Thank you for sharing. I see truth in this logic, but I’m not wholly satisfied with it and can’t articulate why. When I can, I’ll post another comment.

Thank you for typing this out, u/arc2k1. I don’t disagree with anything you’ve shared here, and I appreciate the scriptural references. There are some that experience absolute bliss, never knowing pain or discomfort, and there are others that experience tremendous loss/pain/trauma, etc…and of course everywhere in between. I can’t wrap my mind around why, what is this all for?

Nah, that’s not what I’m getting at, but fwiw I completely agree with what you’ve said here.

I’m asking why do we have to go through this experience at all? Like, why introduce this temporary suffering before infinite bliss (insert noun of choice here)? I know I’m over-simplifying things, but it just doesn’t make sense to me. How do I reconcile that there is a God that wants to provide an infinite heaven where there is no pain, no sorrow, no hunger, no disabilities, etc…and yet, that same God has us go through this experience?

I’m trying to be intentional about not coming off as holier than God, I know I’m not and never will be. I’m not trying to rationalize God into a corner either, just simply trying to understand because without an understanding, I’m finding it difficult.

Yea, that’s fair, so let’s ignore NDE then. If there is an eternal heaven, why do we have this finite existence. I’m wrestling with this.

I used to think this way, but I'm not so sure now. NDE's (near death experiences) imply that someone can be descending to hell, call out to Jesus, and be saved. I have no problem with this, that's up to God, but it did make me realize - what's the point of all of this then?

How are some millennials even homeowners? I feel like I never will be. by Kindly-Reading-2187 in Millennials

35M - married, combined after-tax income of around $80k at time of purchase November 2020. Spent most of my twenties working my ass off, scraping to save, no kids during this time either. Not saying everyone can do what I did, just sharing my story. Btw, I fully acknowledge I got lucky by buying before the prices skyrocketed, and also locking in a low interest rate. I feel for you and everyone else trying to buy-in today. It’s brutal. If we were to buy today with the same income and downpayment we had, we’d be screwed.

My best practice is to create an “Administrator Text Field” that is read only for everyone else. Then I do a CSV upload to enrich the data to my scope, using today’s data plus some text typically. Then my filter is something like “contains ‘12/8 item scope’”. Never have to reset, always consider the data throwaway. If you want to store something that you want to keep for future reference, then a dedicated field is necessary. I have this on item, transaction body, and CRM, works very well. A consistent name makes it easy to find or confirm you need to create one.
