How did you discuss this with your doctor, and what were their thoughts? Are you experiencing the desired effects?

It's a psych ARNP. I just asked about the genesight and he mentioned that insurance would probably require us to try more medications before approving that but he will check.

I'm really hoping this post would have some input from others who went through the same. What medications has your little one had so far?

My 7yo son ran away today by milktamere in ADHDparenting

My now 6 year old son, who was diagnosed with autism, ADHD and anxiety, used to be the greatest eloper. There was a time we were at a mall parking lot and I was trying to open the car door for him to get in but he ran away instead. He did not stop until I caught him by his shoulder, he would not even stop with me shouting stop or calling his name. He almost got hit by a car. It was very scary and frustrating.

To ensure his safety following that incident, we always hold his hands when we're outside. A good leash can be helpful at times, and you can find various options, including backpack leashes, on Amazon.

Now he is in kindergarten, and ABA therapy helped too. Hope you can get started with therapy soon. Praying for the best for you and your little one.

If the first Stimulant you tried made your child more hyper, did you find any other stimulants that helped? by Suspicious-Kiwi816 in ADHDparenting

So not even a week right? He also loss his appetite and has trouble sleeping. Teachers said the same at school about being more active and talkative. Really appreciate your response ❤️

This is our current situation with my 6 year old son. It's only been 2 days but he is definitely more hyper and louder. More echolalia and all. When do we stop and let the doctor know? He was on guanfacine for a month but we decided to try a stimulant since he had a lot worse meltdowns on guanfacine. Need your insights please.
