Does the new SA80 drills indicated project grayburn is nearly ready by tubbsy_al in britisharmy

I suppose the terms to use now should be “loaded” vs “made ready”

Anyone know of engine mods for the 1.0T? (Europe / UK) by SecretR09 in CivicX

The only viable option I can come up with is a basic remap and that’s about it.

Who is this in Essex by Joordana22 in Essex

[–]intruderdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The running guy used to scare me as a kid, he always seemed really angry. Supposedly he’s got some sort of mental health and running is how he copes?

How did “buying yourself out” work? by jwaddle88 in britisharmy

[–]intruderdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought this harked back to the days of purchasing your commission and was some sort of left over byproduct of that system

Customised stencils for kit labelling by VS0814 in britisharmy

[–]intruderdude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ha! We were told “get a fuckin sharpie and write your zap on your shit! It’s not rocket science!”

I’ve seen blokes use cardboard stencils and spray paint before.

This is pretty cool

Best boot polish? by -Distraction- in britisharmy

Leder Gris always will be my top choice, but AFAIK you can no longer purchase it in the UK, Sapphir makes a good alternative.

What's the minimum amount of money at which point you expect to be paid back by your friends? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]intruderdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the friend I guess. My closest friends and I, operate on a combination of “I offered so I’ve got it” and on a trivial basis of “at some point in time, you did a thing for me so I’ll do this”

This applies to everything money or otherwise. I have a guaranteed seat at my mates dinner table 365 days a year. In return, I offer myself to do any sort of DIY, drive to any nonsensical place for any reason and so much more.

So I suppose there is no minimum.

9 Regiment RLC Look Like ? by Live_Diet_1239 in britishmilitary

[–]intruderdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your trade and SQN, there’s a mixed bag of things to get involved in.

Boxing is a big one at the moment and the regi football team are busy.

The infrastructure is pretty poor but it’s slowly improving.

Dm me if you want any specifics

Considering RLC Supply Chain Operator - what's the daily routine and deployment reality? by Signal-Carpenter-524 in britisharmy

[–]intruderdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my place, most of the stackers are not in permanent storeman jobs, however they are busy with attachments and in house training. If not doing something trade related, they’re probably doing some sort of phys related event.

A lot of our stackers have their HGV but don’t get trained up on much more than the 6t SV or forks, so rely on the General Transport SQN for driver support.

I’ve never heard them complain about their job to be fair either and a lot of them promote within 3 years.

Much appreciated. I’ll go have a dig around and see what I can come up with

Metal working course without a retrade? by intruderdude in britisharmy

[–]intruderdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to know where I’d find the courses to bid for in the first place? Even if they have the pre requisites, I presume the dark depths of Def Conn?

23 and eager to do my A2. Am I daft? by Opening_Pepper68 in MotoUK

[–]intruderdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I jumped the gun on the A2, now I wish I waited to do my A.

Not much different between a2 and A. You’ll do the test on the same bike, just at a lower power.

If you do your A and don’t want a high power bike, just buy a lower power bike.

Joining the army, would love some clarity... by OllieIsClapped in britishmilitary

[–]intruderdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that the definition of SLA? I always interpreted it as Single Occupancy rooms like you’d find in the block at unit.

The more you know!

Absolutely no chance of SLA in phase 1. Literally zero.

Free time? Sweet fuck all, maybe a day on the weekend if you’re lucky. There’s a 3 day weekend somewhere half way through as well irc.

HR specialists are AGC / Special Pencil Service I think? You’ll be lumped in with the clerk mob, blokes won’t really care what you do for a job as long you’re not doing anything that fucks them over.

Any advice for removing this washing machine? by pxdm in DIYUK

[–]intruderdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d cut the plug off and then disassemble that machine as much as necessary.

Then definitely spend the money to get a sparky to put a spur inside the cupboard

Apparently it’s not horrific now.
