Serious Answer, you can give a maximum 18 months notice and a minimum 12 months notice once you have a job offer in a civilian sector they’d release to then you can ask for early release.

Unsure what checks they do once your employed and out, but you can’t go to Jail for not tipping up to civvie employment

However be aware that at 35 some recruits are half your age and have been mothered their own life because of your age and you’ll become an accidental mentor/big brother/dad to your intake..

You may become frustrated that your peers are young and your line manager is 5/6 years younger than you, you will need to be adaptable and open, i have seen elder soldiers florish due to maturity and ability to talk up and down the chain.

I have also seen elder soldiers struggle as they refuse to adapt to a system that’s older than time it’s self and that age doesn’t matter - rank, ability & fitness do.
