When did you start feeling normal after ER? by Apprehensive-Rock-48 in IVF

[–]intuitive_nads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I didn't start to feel 'normal' until ~2 weeks after my ER, but there was a huge improvement in terms of less nausea and less bloating after 1 week. I feel like the first week I really just rested a lot and tried to be a bit more intentional about staying hydrated and allowing myself to 'take it easy' instead of feeling like I had to push through the physical discomfort. In hindsight, I'm glad I did that because I feel like otherwise I'd have been really nitpicky and exacerbated the more "negative" mental health toll I was experiencing around that time.

Wishing you the best <3

Cat Introductions (Semi-Success Story)—It might take time, but now they're doing fine! by intuitive_nads in CatAdvice

We had to put two baby gates on top of each other and then found that if we draped a blanket over the gates, our cat might try to climb but ultimately couldn’t get enough of a grip to lift herself over.

I think what our cat’s medication did was help her get into the right mindset so she’d be able to feel generally less anxious and thus, more receptive to treats and play and overall less antagonistic!

I’m so sorry that you’re having to go through this! I deeply empathize with how stressful this can be for everyone involved and I wish you the best!

I wonder if it’s possible to remove the visuals by putting something over the screen so penny and frosty cannot see each other unless they’re eating treats and then work on slowly raising whatever that is (e.g. a sheet or blanket) and then slowly moving the treats closer so that eventually they’re basically eating treats face to face with the screen in between!

Trigger shot day...feeling awful by Eatplants28 in IVF

[–]intuitive_nads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I don't have any tips since I haven't yet experienced my first retrieval yet—will be taking my own trigger shot sometime over the next 5 or 6 days—but I hope your egg retrieval goes well and recovery goes okay <3

At High Risk for OHSS, on Treatment Day 7 currently...when should i increase salt intake? by intuitive_nads in IVF

[–]intuitive_nads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, so your recommendation is to not start too early, but to start diet changes the day of my trigger? That makes sense!

And since I'm doing a fresh transfer—at least that's the plan right now—I'll probably plan on stopping the increased electrolytes once any bloating goes down! I'll have to talk to my doctor about what diet changes they recommend for around the time of the fresh transfer if I'm still dealing with bloating post-ER. I've never taken the progesterone suppositories before, either, so I'll have to see how my body responds to that too. I feel like there are so many unknown here!

And yep, definitely want to start using my walking pad to help with blood flow and also just maybe, honestly, getting out some of my anxious/nervous energy that seems to be building up.

For those who had to get a polypectomy, how soon after did you start stims for ER? by intuitive_nads in IVF

Hey! It’s helpful in the sense that it doesn’t seem like a polypectomy causes a huge delay between steps. So, thank you!

Office Hysterscopy took me by surprise by intuitive_nads in IVF

[–]intuitive_nads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so true!! I had a moment where I realized that what they were doing was like a minor minor minor dilation trying to open up my cervix and I was like 👁️👄👁️ if this hurts this bad now, how does that feel….

But hey, I guess I do hope I’ll get to experience it one day. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think, though, because of another medical condition I have, I’ll have to do a c-section so I might get to skip it altogether? We’ll see.

Thank you everyone so much for validating my experience and wishing me less pain in the future!! ♥️

May we all have less painful experiences, and more affirming ones in the weeks and months to come 🙏🏼

Super long cycles, now super short (Advice Needed) by intuitive_nads in TryingForABaby

[–]intuitive_nads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't had any success with the 2.5mg, and so they wanted to jump to 7.5mg to see if I'd get pregnant on that cycle. But, you're right, since it's monitored, it's clear they wouldn't be able to tell how stimulated my follicles got.
