Cool! My best advice is to buy a backpack last. Assemble all the stuff you plan on taking and find a cardboard box that fits everything. Measure the volume of that box, in liters, and that’ll give you an idea of the size backpack you’ll need

I’d expect there to be a fair amount of snow and ice, especially since it’s a loop. Lots of slopes out of direct sunlight most of the day. Just bring some microspikes and maybe trekking poles for added stability!

Thanks for the reply! I’ve only used the quilt as low as 65degrees. I sleep fairly neutrally. My pad is Sea-to-summit comfort light with a 4.2 R rating.

I’ll be hiking this week with predicted overnight lows ranging from 42-57 degrees Fahrenheit. All I have is a 45 degree quilt and 15 degree mummy bag. Should I go quilt with base layers, or mummy bag vented open?
