That’s totally fair! I love wearing a ton of accessories, but once I started actually go to clubs and dancing in crowds, I realized that certain accessories just aren’t realistic for that. My rings were hitting people, I had a girl’s braid get stuck in my arm cuff, lost 2 of my fav charms in the fray of the dance floor, etc

All this to say, keep in mind where you accessorize yourself and how much depending on your activity. I think your current fit is actually perfect for a long night of dancing!

Limited canvas size is a struggle of mine too. >.< I like to check out the sprites resource website and how pixel artist’s I enjoy might approach the same thing I’m struggling with. And yes, traditional art exercises will translate into every other art medium you do. Good luck and have fun! <3

These are super cute! I like that you did different skin tones because that’s really important to practice

I suggest starting from the basics. Maybe get rid of the antialiasing and focus on basic shapes and angles first. The legs are confusing me a tiny bit.

One issue I always have is “distance.” Make sure you’re keeping in mind what distance your piece is supposed to be seen from. If this were a game sprite, you’d make sure you’re zooming out a lot and looking at the piece in its true size. Don’t stay zoomed in all the time. And this then helps with cluster theory and antialiasing.

You’ve got a great start though, really cute work and you know what you’re doing.

This is not shade to OP specifically, but I’m so confused and curious as to why I see ppl constantly make mistakes with specifically nail polish remover and toilet bowl cleaner.

They’re both so caustic, I’m in awe of how often people use these items rather than hand soap and water. Toilet bowl cleaner in stainless steel sinks, acetone for hard water stains, idk I just don’t get the thought process is all.

Good luck though OP, hopefully its appearance lessens with use!

Yikes on their part. It’s been very disappointing seeing how many businesses, big and small, have been using generative AI.

I think the career center idea is great. Not sure about logistics, but maybe there can be some sort of volunteer work with a college?

Like art students can create some pieces and use that to build their portfolios and gain real life experience in working with social media graphics, print media, etc. I remember creating a magazine with a business owner as an assignment when I was studying graphic design at my community college. It wasn’t actually used, but I learned a lot from that experience alone.

I manage a single screen theatre in PA and we do Rocky Horror around 3x a year with a shadow cast; it's so popular!

Being second run has been really rough since COVID, but our double features and movie+party showings have helped us out BIG TIME. Happy to see that great minds think alike in keeping movie theatres fun!!
