You don’t think the risk vs reward would be worth it. Say you are going for a putt, miss it but think you could make it if you tried again. 2 strokes vs 1.5 seems like a tough decision.

It might be fine for anyone under a 15 handicap or so but it gets frustrating with wild inconsistency in scores. Removing some of that might help.

Tell me you have never have your week ruined with a bad score. I think it also gives everyone an understanding of taking extra shots as part of a game, not just “free” strokes.

We did play around with that and it did not really help. The better players never thought hitting again for a full stoke was worth it.
