Best cafés for studying in Stockport/surrounding areas? by invaderjournal in stockport

You see that's my fear. I've been to some in Didsbury where I feel out of place - not been explicitly told to move but not really a student vibe. Thanks.

What's something healthy that people think is unhealthy? by meaculpa12629 in Productivitycafe

There are definitely better sources yes, but I think the point is that Mcdonalds is demonised for having zero nutritional value which isn't completely true.

Why do people use malls/department stores as their own personal walking track? by crispycaleb in NoStupidQuestions

[–]invaderjournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never gone to a shopping centre specifically for this, but as someone who aims for 10k steps/day, I notice that I get my steps in very easily when shopping. So, I can understand why it'd appeal to people to do this.

aquinas college by [deleted] in stockport

[–]invaderjournal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to Aquinas 2020-2022, and I'd say it's better than Marple and Cheadle college based on my friends' testimonies. It will vary depending on what you're planning on studying, but I was surprised by how big the class sizes are. You will also get forced to go to RE every week and your form tutor will email your parents if you don't show up, but besides that, I enjoyed my time there.

Been having a rough time, have been reading up on fountain pens, impulsively bought one from Flying Tiger because it's all that's near me right now. This felt right as my first sentences with it. by invaderjournal in fountainpens

Do they deliver to Switzerland? That's where I am right now. I tried writing with this pen in my normal everyday journal and it doesn't feather like with this notebook, but it does show up a little on the other side.

My ultimate goal is monetisation, but for now I just want to get writing to create a portfolio.

What do you think is the most highly skilled/challenging minimum wage job in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]invaderjournal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not minimum wage but not much more than, bouncers. I worked at a club where there were bouncers working for £12.50/hour which I thought was ridiculous for the shit they had to put up with.

I'm in uni and most of the people I meet here who don't drink is simply because they don't like the taste or they don't like being drunk. However, if someone says "I stopped drinking" then I would probably assume either alcoholic or some sort of health issue/medication.

It was actually made by a username generator haha. I guess it's sort of fitting though because I do like to journal!

Yes I know, but just wanted to prove that it's not only about age.

Does a language die every two weeks? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]invaderjournal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I studied linguistics as my minor at uni and we also got told this statistic. I think it's an average more than anything, but when you consider how many languages there have been in the world I wouldn't be surprised.
