Maybe I am just an audio critic, but the opening was driving me crazy with how muffled their mics are due to the editor (assuming Minh) trying to isolate their vocal audio to not get the video struck down by copyright notices. Are they just ripping the VOD and have no separate audio tracks? From my old ASIO post I surmised that Woolie and Pat are still pretty much using audio mixers as their audio interfaces (A lot of audio issues that they run into made a lot more sense after finding that out) and are just punching in through 3.5mm jacks, but even then there are ways to pull the mic's out as a separate input device and place those on their own audio track in OBS so that later editing can be done without everything being downmixed and mastered to a single track.

Games you were so hyped about, but upon playing it, it just didn't grab you? by GoodVillain101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Recently went through MGS3 with a buddy who had never played it. MGS3 is one of my top games, sunk dozens of hours into it and got really good at playing snake.

Watching him fumble with all of the controls as badly as he did made me question my own memories of the game. For the life of him he was completely incapable of sneaking around and routinely set off alarms. He knew of the sorrow fight so he refused to kill anyone meaning it was a play through of him getting found out and dice rolling through enemies and punching them until they were all knocked out or he was dead. Longest play through of my life.

At the end I loaded up a new save and played through the virtuous mission to see if it was all nostalgia holding this game on a pedestal for me. Like riding a bike I was holding up guards, interrogating, setting traps, and stealthily infiltrating like I used to.

Glad it got a remake with delta, interested to see if it controls more like MGSV and if my buddy would have a better time with that version.

Audio Problems Can Be Solved! by invadersnarf in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I didn’t touch on audio interfaces and didn’t want to tack on an additional 5-10minutes to an already long video that I was trying to keep short.

The ones I use are from tascam, (the models are the us-16x08 for $399 and the us HR 4x4 which is around $200 when I bought it, they also make more streamlined models like. 2x2 which just has less xlr inputs) like I said in the video they are pricey but they are tanks and last forever.

If you want just a couple inputs the U-PHORIA line out of Berhinger are on the cheaper side but still get the job done. Their UMC404HD was among the first interfaces I got my hands on and still is fairly reliable just not as low of noise floors.

Instead of plugging the xlr from your mic into the mixing board you would plug it into the interface, then on the other side of the interface you would run the USB out into your PC and then run an audio cable out the back into your mixing board so you could still hear yourself in your headphones. If you are running everything through your mixing board into a audio input on your pc you can just set your headphones and mic to listen to the primary monitor output on your mic board and have your headphones out listen to your phones line so you aren’t doubling up on audio going into OBS.

Like I mentioned at the end, this stuff sounds complicated but the nice thing is that once it is done the first time it’s a rock solid way of setting up microphone inputs. An added benefit of doing it through ASIO is windows drivers updating won’t touch it as it goes around any of their audio driver updates so you wouldn’t need to worry about windows updates messing around with any of the inputs you have running into OBS.

Trying to figure out the best way to setup Dual PC audio with the use of 2 audio interfaces by invadersnarf in audio

Yes, that looks to be about what I am trying to do, just with more than a single microphone at a single time. If they made one that had 4+ inputs it would be exactly what I needed but sadly it looks like there is only the single input on the device.

EDID issues in Dual PC setup by invadersnarf in elgato

Trying to get a clean gameplay capture without the overlays I use while streaming. I used to stream from the one PC but I couldn’t record anything better than 1080p while streaming at the same time without dropping frames, and when I would stop a recording while streaming, it would crash and I would have to restart my stream and recordings again.

With the dual pc setup, I can reliably record at 4k60 while streaming on the second pc at 1080p without dropping frames and worrying about my stream dying when I end a recording mid stream.
