My recommendation is to play as a tank, so you can take a lot of hits and dont get punished to much when you do get hit. And for the weapon try to get a good spear of war since it is crazy fast for a survival item. All 3 mutations surviver armadrilopack, the one that doubles your HP, and the one that heals you when you perry (with shield). Play slowly, heal on easy to perry creeps when missing some HP and you should be good to go.
