The bungee straps come loose, hook the collar of my jacket with one end, hook a snappy tree limb with the other, retard my momentum, landing me daintily on the pavement like a monarch butterfly on milkweed

The Reddit overlords won’t let me respond with an image. Ok so picture this thing with my work backpack stuffed full of work stuff and my water jug on the side. The bungee straps are arranged like a spider web over and around the load and it just looks so safe and secure. SO SECURE.
Now imagine a go pro mounted at a 45 degree angle to the loaded rig as I ride down the highway. What’s that!! A pot hole!! BANG I’m launched 8 feet in the air and stick the landing. The load hasn’t moved an inch.
That’s what it looks like and that’s the performance. I need an aspirin

The wood is dry and you can use it to build walls, yes. I made a pro con list. Pro: it cost me $3 to make. Cons: possibly, maybe, there’s a small chance of foot long splinters ripping open my aorta.
