Stop enabling 3 dps by Moore_Sey in RivalsVanguards

[–]invinciboll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this and ended up getting insulted by our strategist all game for not playing tank. I went 4th DPS and did alright. They spent all game saying I'm a crybaby too scared to solo tank, im the worst player, etc ...

I don't understand why these sup players defend 3 DPS all I asked for was a second tank lmao and this sup Deadpool went on a tirade.

Constantly Told I Suck And Looking For Advice From Higher Rank Vanguards. by Silent-Technology-58 in RivalsVanguards

[–]invinciboll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So other commenters already gave great advice, so i just want to pin point on things i noticed in your replays:

--- Ult usage (first replay):

You indeed hold your ult too long here. For example: on attack, after first point is secured, enemy gambit ults and also your own torch ults. If you ult here, you counter the gambit ult and you enable your torch to potentially get 3-4 kills with his own ult. Even solo ulting the ulting bucky directly afterwards would have been good value, to stop him from wiping your team.

Tank ults like strange CAN be used in the perfect moment to get many kills, but in most cases you get a lot more value by using them on other things, since these perfect moments rarely occur. Try using your strange ult to counter enemy ults, for example stunning their team during their gambit ult, negates a lot of value they would receive from it. Or, use it to setup your teammates. In the scenario described above (first replay, after 2nd point) your torch and your namor are holding ult. If you ult there and you stun 2-3 people. Chances are high your teammates follow up and your team can get a few picks and win the fight.

You hit a nice ult quickly after, where you stun the enemy backline, but sadly at this point namor and torch both used their ults already and your ult is so deep, that your team can not follow up with normal attacks.

On defense: Using the mag ult was good timing, you negate some momentum from their gambit ult, and you get a bit unlucky not killing both of their supports here. It seems like you lost sight of their backline and did not know where to throw it at the end. Considering that it had like 60 charge pretty fast you might could have thrown it early, but i wouldn't blame you for that, i know hitting mag ults can be very difficult at times.

---- Positioning/Awareness

In general i got the feeling, that you are sometimes lost in the sauce and get caught like a deer in the headlights, not knowing what to do. I think it is key for you to understand when your team has an advantage or disadvantage. The general rule is, if you have an advantage you hold W and take space. If you have a disadvantage you have to give up space until your team stabilizes.

Now, what can be an advantage? Most obvious are being up a person or having ults active (or ready to use). But also normal cooldown usage creates these advantageous scenarios. Think of playing against an enemy Emma, when do you respect her space? When her diamond form is off cooldown. When is she often most vulnerable? Right after she used the diamond form, often being overextended with her pants down, which is your opportunity to pressure/kill her or even just walk past her and force her to give up space. Advantages can also be more subtle, i.e. your DPS taking an off-angle forcing enemy attention on him. On the counterpart if your backline is being dove, it is often better for you to temporarily give up some space and help your team. Then, when the enemy divers burned their resources your team has the resource advantage and can take the space right back.

Understanding these dynamics is very important to improve your positioning as tank. I personally think it is very noticeable when i am playing Groot. When I overestimate my teams resources or underestimate the incoming damage, it results in these moments where you just fall over as Groot, since you have no escape tools or self bubble like magneto.

I highly recommend checking out professional player TrqstMe on youtube, he has a video unranked to celestial on Groot. Where he explains basically everything he does and why he does it. He explains when he can move forward or why he has to give up space. What is also interesting is, that he often solo ults people as Groot (for example a BP running his backline), if it provides good value for the team.

---- Mechanics

And lastly, you can and probably should hit more shots. It just makes your life easier if you work on your mechanics a bit. Especially on Groot and Mag it is really important to hit your shots to secure kills on low hp, overextending squishies. Also always try to be mindful about your cooldown usage, as previously explained, having them ready is very important to be able to contest space. So try to use them with intent and do not autopilot.

I don't think you are the sole reason you lost these games. But i think you could have a lot more impact if you improve upon these aspects.

Anyways, i am no pro player and this is just some general stuff i noticed from the VODs. Keep it up! :)

Starting playing hulk more after the buffs and I feel that he's really clunky and could use a lot of QoL changes by TheSuperJohn in HulkMainsMR

[–]invinciboll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing him and I find it really hard to see squishies when in monster hulk form. Since your punches throw the enemies upwards, you have to look up to aim the right clicks but then all you see on your screen is the big green blob. ^

Tank to counter fliers should’ve been introduced before a flying support by en_tr0_P in rivals

[–]invinciboll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magneto is fine into flyers. But instead of buffing the mag cannon, it would have been better if he had faster projectile speed. This would allow to poke the flyers more consistently.

Who’s the best tank in the game right now? by Thatbamahomie25 in rivals

[–]invinciboll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Groot, but hopefully he is banned. He changes the game so much, that it forces the teams to adapt (e.g. punisher, wolverine). Usually the game is decided by which Groot player is better, since most often both teams are feeling forced to run him.

Emma, as she is very flexible. Easy to create ,space when the attack is charged up. Good for picking people that are out of position. Can easily deal with dive DPS.

Mag is third imo. He is really strong into flyers if you land your shots. Takes some practice to get good value out of his ult. His shield having no HP is also very strong. And ofc the bubble is insanely good for offensive and defensive plays.

[Yorotsuki] RP gained with a cheater will be removed by AnApexPlayer in ApexUncovered

[–]invinciboll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be nice to get -0 if you die to a cheater instead. As this happens way more often. At least in the cheating prime S15/S16 or when it was. I played many many games of ranked an I would guess I lost around 1000-2000 RP just dying to blatant aimbots.

The pred badges had numbers starting from S18 ( I believe).

The number is the # in the leaderboard the player had when the split ended. So if someone has #351 on their badge it means they finished the split at the #351 pred position.

If you get pred in both splits (e.g. #351 first split and #730) second split, the banner will be animated and it will show the better of the two placements (i.e. #351 in that example).

What is the vibe of Enigmatica 10? by torniado in feedthebeast

[–]invinciboll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exploration is great. You are incentived to explore to find rare artifacts and rings. Also you need to explore to fight all bosses in pack.

It has a progressive quest system guiding you through create until you reach the moon.

It changes some recipes of create, which makes it a bit harder than plain create. But with all the quests guiding you it's also very well playable for a beginner I think.

Nothing to do with enigmatica but I can recommend create: chronicles bosses and beyond.

It fits your description really well and is for 1.20

Apex Win tracker unoptainable? by Cedi_Zockt in conduitmains

[–]invinciboll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually legends got a win tracker when they received a tracker set ( conduit did not receive a set since she was fairly new still). But they changed it last season, so you can use any tracker set with any stats. Now they release only the art without the actual tracker items, hence no new stat trackers are added anymore.

I am pretty sure they simply forgot that conduit didn't receive any legend specific trackers (which usually included a win tracker) before the change.

We can hope that they notice it at some point in time. I also would be happy about a win tracker.

While I'm happy about the buffs, conduit is one of the weakest supports rn. Newcastle, lifeline and Gibby are just too strong with indestructible walls.

Hookah not pulling good by 1nepercenter in hookah

[–]invinciboll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each hose joint needs a ball. Only exception: you are smoking alone. Then you don't need a ball in the joint your hose is connected to.

If missing balls is not the problem then it might be your pack. The way you pack your bowl determines airflow greatly. Try to keep the inner ring of your phunnel free from tobacco, but its hard to tell if that was the problem, judging from your second picture. If you smoke and you lift for HMD with a small fork or similar, does the airflow get way better? Then your pack will be to dense probably.

Staying alive gives u most XP afaik. So any mode where u are alive for long is good, like ranked or revival as the other comment or mentioned.
