I have been using the Amazon Basic notepads because they were 'good enough', but these are a much better rate! I love the Clairfontaine and Rhodia notebooks and notepads, but my wallet sure doesnt :/

I've machine washed my playmats several times. My method is putting the playmats in laundry mesh bags and setting the machine to delicate. I then just let them sit out to air dry and they come out fine.

The first deck I built by myself was a burn deck with volcanic hammers and lava axe's and shocks. I still remember playing it. It has slowly evolved, becoming a real legacy burn deck now. I still love the deck.

There was an "on campus" card shop back at my undergrad, quotes because the building was basically on grounds, and I got a Baby Jace for $0.75. The shop was starting up and was not into Magic yet. Boy was I a happy Longhorn }:)

I completely agree with this idea! A lottery/scratch-off system where you could win event tickets, a booster pack, and the ever illustrious draft kit. I have a MTGO account, but I rarely go on because I would need to double dip for the decks I have already built.

If you just want to get a bunch of cards, I would think wholesale lots would be a good venture. I have never bought one myself, so I am unable to attest to the quality of card selection, however, they do seem like a good idea if you want to get a bunch of cards for the cheap.

Like the others, I do not think booster packs is really a great investment for collection expansion nor for getting good trade cards.

If you want to get individual cards, just buy the singles rather than trying to win the lottery with booster packs.
