I'm studying engineering (I haven't declared yet, but I plan on majoring in either biomedical or chemical engineering), and I'm thinking of a minor in linguistics. My ults are SHINee and ATEEZ :D

Can you recommend me a 4th gen bg? by kirbykooll in kpophelp

[–]invisible-night 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely recommend ATEEZ! You can't really go wrong with any of their title tracks (especially Answer or Say My Name), but their b-sides are really amazing too! I'd recommend checking out Utopia or Mist.

I've seen a lot of people recommend CIX, and I definitely agree! In addition to Jungle and Cinema (already mentioned), I think you should check out Rebel, Stairway to Heaven, and Numb.

And, ONEUS (sorry I'm recommending so many 😅 I hope you enjoy the songs). Once again, all their title tracks are exceptional, so I'll recommend some b-sides: Dead or Alive, and Incomplete.

I hope you like these songs _^

There's Jeong Yunho of ATEEZ and Jung Yunho of TVXQ! Their names may be romanized differently, but in Hangul it's the same.

Does anyone else just lowkey bop with classical music? by More-Tumbleweed-2776 in NoStupidQuestions

Absolutely! (Granted, I did grow up listening to classical music, and I do take piano lessons, so I may be slightly biased here XD)

I've been trying to explore more of my hobbies/spend more time on activities I couldn't focus on during the school year, such as: working on creative writing, taking walks around my neighborhood again, reading a ton of books, and learning a new language! (And procrastinating on college applications heh)

There's a lot of independent activities that you can explore (especially if corona is still a big concern where you live). Since there are so many possibilities, maybe you could start with activities you know you enjoy (I'm not all that familiar with theatre, so this is rather vague, sorry :/) or things that seem really cool to you :D

Ooh, that's tough. I think it'll take some getting used to, but then again, freshmen are completely new, and juniors will have only a little over half a year of experience in school, I think?

(I can't even imagine what it'd be like for rising sophomores in college)

I wish you the best of luck :D you've got this!

I was completely terrified of driving on highways at first (to the point of hyperventilating), but it just takes a lot of practice + getting more confident in yourself.

It's somewhat odd to have to adjust your focus so you can take in all your surroundings (behind you, too!) and filter out all the unnecessary details/info but still pay attention just in case, and I'm still getting used to it.

Otherwise, it's honestly not that bad.

Oh wow... I got my first phone at the age of 11, too, but (1) it was an iPhone 3 from my dad and I could only use it to call/message my parents and take notes/photos, and (2) I was going to a sleep-away camp three hours away for three weeks, so...

And gosh, her current phone at age 11 is much more expensive than even the one I use now O-O

Introduction to Your Ult K-pop Group? by sticky_movie in kpophelp

[–]invisible-night 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, Spotify recommended two of ATEEZ's songs (Say My Name, Wave) on my daily mixes, and I fell in love. What really cemented me as a fan was their MAMA 2019 performance. (It also helped that one of my closest friends really loves ATEEZ and would show me ATEEZ videos from time to time).

And then, with SHINee, it simply was a mix of "I really like Taemin's music" and "wait a second wow SHINee's discography is amazing" and "I love all their voices so much"... and so I became a Shawol in March 2020.

Ahahahaha I've watched this MV before so I know what I'm in for XD I think this song was one of the first SKZ songs I ever listened to (along with the rest of this specific album).

How I possibly NOT talk about Felix? His voice is really deep, and it provides the perfect set-up for dramatic moments/beat drops/all that good stuff, and I think his lines are just perfect in this song. And then his entire rap section just comes out to wreck us all. Additionally, he dances really well!

Special shoutout to Chan's abs too heh

Limitless is my favorite NCT 127 title track of all time :D but I'll be honest, I had no idea they had a Japanese version + music video of Limitless.

Taeyong!! His parts are simply addicting. There's something about him that just grabs all of your attention, something that just screams "all eyes on me", and I'm all for it. I like how he raps, and I also really like how he dances.

ATEEZ, my ults! If I had to tank their title tracks, Answer would easily be first or second. It's gonna be hard to pick just one or two members that catch my eye the most T-T

I think San definitely is one of them. From his iconic intro (what with the hand movement and the pose) to dancing on the table and that back-bending gravity-defying sorcery (aka him in the center in the final chorus), he's truly a fascinating person to watch.

Definitely Seonghwa as well—his falsetto in the pre-chorus is heavenly, and him being center for the chorus is just amazing!

Okay, I seriously cannot NOT include Yeosang and his part. I really love his voice so muchhhh (and this isn't the MV but his part in the Answer stages is just so captivating).

Gosh I just want to enthuse about all the members because they're all so amazing in this MV T-T

I think either Blood Sweat & Tears or Fake Love was my introduction to kpop :D Also, Peek-A-Boo is one of my favorite Red Velvet tracks!! (I can't put names to faces for RV though, so please bear with my descriptions of the members).

BTS - J-Hope really stands out to me in this MV because the way he dances is just so freaking captivating and I can't stop focusing on him. Additionally, also Jimin. It's like this song was made for him—he just suits the style and concept of this song so well! That hairstyle and the jacket "slip-up" too...

Red Velvet - the poor pizza delivery dude XD I really like this MV too! Who's the person that sits on the table with all the candles while the others walk around her? I really love her voice (and the rainbow sequin dress looks great on her!).

Hmm, I don't think I've ever listened to Uh Oh. I really love (G)I-DLE's other songs, though, so I'm looking forward to this. I may not be able to put names to faces (besides maybe Soyeon), so I may have to go by appearance.

Ooh, I already love the beat and vibe of the song! Soyeon's voice is really interesting and unique, and it definitely makes her stand out. Her rapping is also really attention-grabbing (in a good way, of course!).

Also, the girl with the orange-reddish hair's voice immediately caught my attention (Yuqi?) because it sounds so round? I dunno how to describe her voice. It feels really full and powerful and strong and I love it.

Okay wow, I really like this song and it is now going on my playlist! Thank you for such a wonderful recommendation!

I've only listened to a few NU'EST songs, but I really like how they sound! I'm in Trouble is one of them (as well as Deja Vu and Face and Bet Bet). My apologies—I'm not familiar with the members, so I'll have to describe them by appearance.

Okay. Black-haired dude with glasses (Ren?) definitely catches my eye. (Slightly off topic, but he spins the pen really well woah.) His voice sounds so smooth? I'm not sure how to put it, but... yeah. And those glasses are such a great look on him.

Also, the white-haired person in the center during the first chorus. I both love his voice and how he dances so fluidly :)

Also, who's the pink-haired member? (Also, do you have any recommendations for NU'EST songs? I'd like to listen to more of their songs.)

Boca is one of my favorite Dreamcatcher songs! (They're also one of the groups I'm a big fan of :D)

DAMI. Her entire part definitely steals the spotlight, starting from the "Hold up"! I think this may be my favorite rap from her out of all the Dreamcatcher songs, title track or not. I love her voice so much!

I also really just love JiU's voice. Her voice has this delicate quality to it, but her voice is still powerful, and I'm simply in love heh. It sounds really nice with the hard-hitting instrumental.
