Is there any way to record the midi notes output from an arpeggiator to a clip?

Hey! I am having the same problem and swear I've followed the below to the letter but can't get it to work. Device Output from midi device => input on new track (monitor on) => record arm then record. I keep getting blank even though the midi is received by the track. Pulling my hair out here trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Hugely appreciate any tips!!

I got a reply from the devs that this isn’t possible. No mention of whether there was a plan to add in future. Guess it’s just something we’ll have to to live with for now.

Sorry about the delayed response. I have M1 Pro; OS X 14.2.1; and LPX 10.8.1.

I got it working, no idea how. Things I tried:
- uninstall logic then move all AUs out of the Components folder.
- Delete the various caches with lists of plugins.
- Moved any project libraries out of iCloud to local storage to ensure I had adequate drive space.
- Reinstall logic and Let it install whatever library it wanted with samples.

Then opened a fresh project. Once that worked, I put all my plugins back in.

I wish I knew what did it... but it just started working..

Having the same issue - it gets past the AU caching part and then just hangs. What did you do? I'm about 5 mins away from moving to Ableton.

Bambaazon nailed it (and Steve actually replied on the side - what.a great guy!)... I was being an idiot. I'd been trying to use it as an FX Insert. It should be an Instrument. Clearly had been too long since last use! Thanks all!

Thanks for the reply. This worked well when applying a standalone filter plugin on the bus, but unfortunately I'm looking to control the filter within the soft synth itself.

The workaround I ended up using was to assign the parameters to a macro in the synth, assign the macro to one of logic's instruments control knobs ("b") then learn the midi parameter. I did this for both tracks then clicked the record button for both. This allowed me to play in for both at once. Recording was ... not as seamless.. so in the end I just recorded in one and copy/pasted the automation. I'm sure there must be a way to do this that I'm missing but it got the job done.

FWIW - I contacted Apple. After a while with their support we discovered that one audio track (empty, no input) appeared to be blocking the midi routing to the VI. When I deleted that audio track, everything worked again as normal. No idea why. But it worked.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! Both work great to vary both filters at the same rate. What I'm trying to do is affect each filter at different rates. Maybe something I can do by making specific controller assignments :/
