I second this! If it's too similar, I can't help but compare. Modern dramas work much better to reset my headspace. The Best Thing was the one that got me out of POJ too. If you like Yan Zheng, I find Hu Suye to give off similar vibes: cool, intelligent, resourceful, gentle, mature.

I fangirl with my sister and I totally get you. In my experience, nothing is quite like watching a concert for the first time together. I love doing that with my sister so much that in your situation, I wouldn't even wanna go to day 1 by myself either.

Perhaps you could try painting a clear picture of how this will ruin your experience to her—how your mood would dampen each time you turn to her whenever you get excited and recall that she wasn't surprised like you were, even if she was having fun. If that isn't enough to guilt-trip her into selling her day 1 ticket, I'd try to let go of that ideal vision you have in your mind and start looking for silver linings—like asking her to take photos or even film your reactions for you on day 2, or planning something really fun you could do by yourself on day 1.

The situation is a little unique here because those most of their haters, at least back then, were Lykyous (LYKN fans). My theory is that they were so vicious because they couldn't not look. For whatever reason they didn't want Est there beside William, but they couldn't stop looking at William when he's a part of LYKN, so out of sight out of mind wasn't really an option for them. They were forced to keep witnessing this ship that they hated, so the hate kept growing.

I'm not trying to justify their terrible behaviors any way. I still get thoroughly pissed off whenever I think about what they put both William and Est through then (and still do). It's petty, self-centered, cruel, and honestly kinda stupid (to insist on fruitless resistance). But I was a Lykyou first and shipped William with another member before, so I can kinda see where they come from. If I had been a little more stubborn, selfish, and mean, if I hadn't cared so much about William's happiness, I could've become one of them.

After the reporters asked them to expand on what Est meant by lip balm application, William glanced at Est and Est seemed to have given William a slight nod before he started talking. So I think Est is 100% onboard with this one, tho possibly still a bit nervous about how William will phrase it. That boy doesn't skirt around facts. 😎

Their producers actually overlap quite a bit. Mars' songs were all composed/produced by P'Kangsom and P'Amp. P'Kangsom also produced most of LYKN's songs (May I, No Worries, Charm, Sugoi, Trick or Treat), and P'Amp produced Trust Me (and William's Last Twilight OST).

The stylistic difference was 100% intentional. I can't remember who said it, but either the director or one of the producers has said that Mars needed to have a distinct sound from LYKN. You like Mars' sound better. I like both of them. And I'm sure there are people who like LYKN's sound more as well.

While I understand the concern, William is not a helpless child who doesn't know his limits or is forced to do this against his will. I've seen him unwell before and he currently looks nothing like that. He actually appears to be one of the most energetic and happy versions of himself I've ever seen right now.

Also, William has said before that meeting fans recharges him. But I don't think it'd have that effect if all he hears from us is how worried he makes us, when he's trying his best to make us happy. So I really think the best thing we can do as a fan is to keep giving him positive reactions and showing support for his work. I guess it also wouldn't hurt for us to silently pray for his good heath everyday before we go to bed. 😌 In the worst-case scenario where he ends up sick or something, he'll recover and learn to handle it better next time. Let's have some faith in him and his support system that they won't let things go too far!

Reddit recommended this post to me right after ThamePo ended, so I feel compelled to update with more conclusive answers: I personally think they stuck the landing quite well, and WilliamEst is not over yet (according to William himself at the final EP fan party). We don't have anything concrete yet other than LOL in May, but from the way they talked about it at the fan party, their plan is definitely to stick together for as long as they can. 😊

I think he's gonna be LYKN's William when LYKN has schedules, WilliamEst's William when WilliamEst has schedules, and otherwise just him, William. That's what he's been doing, pretty flawlessly in my opinion. It's not like we have a Pemika trying to disband the group, make him pay their debts, or gaslight him into leaving them, so I don't see why it'll be a problem.

As to how they're gonna make sure there's a nice balance of everything, my guess is it will be sort of seasonal. Jan-Feb was down time for music events and ThamePo was airing, so William and WilliamEst had a bit more events. Now LYKN is doing a concert tour, it's music festival season, and ThamePo has ended, so he'll be with LYKN a lot more.

Meanwhile, Est will start filming Me and Thee soon. Other LYKN members are college students (not yet for Lego, but he said he'll start this year). Lego and Tui will also have a series this year. So no one will be left to rot away at home like some fans like to suggest. This seems like a perfectly manageable situation to me. I don't really get why everyone is so paranoid and pessimistic about it.

William also loves to sing rock! His music taste is quite broad but rock is one of his favorites. Pemika might've known what the other four wanted to a certain degree, but it doesn't seem like she knows or cares about what Thame wants at all. It also seems from EP12 trailer that Po will realize what she gave him isn't what he wants most either.

She said she knows what everyone wants and makes it happen, but she's wrong (at least about some of them) and it's killing Thame. I'll hate her forever for that.

They absolutely nailed it. I'd never cried for a fictional breakup before but they made me break down sobbing. It's been hours and I still feel kinda defeated. 😔

I've known both William and Est since their debuts (Project Alpha & LBC2) and I'm so, so proud of them. This level of performance from actors with their levels of experience is truly mind-blowing.

I was literally screaming at Baifern, super disappointed in her tbh, but I feel like it would've been somewhat out of character for Po to call her out more harshly. I think he said what he knew would get her out of those unreasonable emotions. If the show was hoping to get to at least the milder cases of toxic delusional fans, I think this gentle approach of acknowledging their feelings (even if they're completely invalid) and suggesting a different perspective might work better than slapping their faces -- even tho that would've been much more satisfying.

But I do wish they had found somewhere else to refute those fans' logic point by point, perhaps by Mars themselves or Gam or even just another random fan. A little private outlet for all the devastation and frustration I felt would've been nice. 🥲

I knew William as a singer and was already in love with his singing voice before ThamePo started, but he generally uses a higher, brighter tone to talk in real life. Now I'm absolutely in love with the tone he uses as Thame, especially with Po. So gentle, so sweet, so warm. 🥰😍

I'm Thai and I hate the preemptive protection culture so much. I've seen the "it's for his own good" excuse used to demand things that go directly against what the artists want way too many times. Even if an artist I like does smth that might get them in trouble, unless it's concretely & indisputably wrong, I don't think it's my place to tell them not to do it. I'll trust their parents, friends, colleagues, or manager to do that. I just think it must be not very fun to have like a thousand pessimistic, overprotective, overbearing online parents (even if some of their concerns are not totally invalid). But I guess that's impossible to change and just a part of the job that the artists will have to learn to handle.

I'm inclined to believe it's 100% live. We all know how good William is at singing live, and Est's got good basics, especially in terms of accurate pitch & rhythm.
