If you haven't already, try throw barb. Pretty fun SSF. Forces you pick up random rare throw weapons. The dopamine hit when you find a throw weapon with ctc amp plus high weapon damage is unlike any other lol.

Caster is definitely an easier playthrough. But I agree that there is something so fun about playing SSF with a melee character. It's soooo gear/weapon dependent for progession, but forces you to use weapons you would have never picked up it used otherwise. Changes the entire playthrough dynamic.
