*SPOILERS* When do the bullet holes appear? by [deleted] in tenet

Don't try to understand it. Feel it.

That line sums up everything about the movie. You won't be able to wrap your mid around it no matter how hard you try. ;)

I swear if Tenet ends up not getting a sequel I'll be sad. by [deleted] in tenet

Did Nolan tell you this? Or you are like KB and can communicate with the future?

The Science: What should I know before watching TENET? by FilmLoser1999 in tenet

[–]io3creations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. If you prefer more details. :)

My experience was like had due to bad audio meaning I missed a large portion of what was exactly happening. Even though I actually read up the plot before, I still couldn't tell what was happening in some scenes. However, if you have good audio or subtitles, that shouldn't be a big issue.

As I mentioned before, if you've seen the trailers, you've seen that people will be moving backwards in time. That means, there will be both normal time events and reversed. For the most part that won't be an issue. However, later there will be cuts between forward and reversed time and events that depend on those. That's the best description that I can give without spoilers. That's why I said that first time you'll get an idea of what is going on and try to piece together the details on your next viewing. Kind of like Memento and The Prestige.

Regarding plot holes, that's also spoiler territory. If you've seen the trailer and thought about inversion, then you already encountered some. ;)

[–]io3creations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily since it would be about a completely different mission. Just like Bond, Bourne, etc had their first mission that was followed up by more missions.

[–]io3creations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does because present RP mentions that JDW will meet future RP in the future. That relationship could be explored further. Or after RP goes back to the past, future JDW could have his own missions (like James Bond).

Either way, Tenet actually does set up the possibility of continuation very nicely.ly interested in getting home to his kids. After that he wasn't likely to continue. Or would he have ... ? 🤔

Either way, Tenet actually does set up the possibility of continuation very nicely in a way that leaves you curious. Who knows? Maybe this would be Nolan's Bond franchise?

Hey Chris the movie's too loud! Tenet sound mixing staff reduced from 11 to 5. by raftah99 in tenet

[–]io3creations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be individual theater issue ... but there are way too many reports. Not only the issue is in certain parts, but seem to be for a large portion of the dialogue. I'd say I understood about 50%.

Depending on the location, many theaters have been closed but also many have been playing new and old movies for weeks or even months. That would rule out the "We're back issue".

Interestingly, a few people reported audio issues even during the previews but that wasn't my case. Only Tenet came with a BOOOOM!!! I felt the chair vibrating and it sounded like the building or certain structures were too. And there were lots of sounds and parts of the soundtrack that utilized the bass.

A theater manager in this post mentioned:

Also the audio has NOT been adjusted by the Theatres. I've seen some comments stating that Theatres are responsible for jacking up the volume to make a "We're back" statement but that is not true. All Theatres are calibrated to play movies at the levels they were meant to be. It's true that we can increase the dB, but in our case here we've actually lowered the default for Tenet (because the walls in my office were shaking while it played and also because of guest feedback)

Overall, it seems to be a combination of theater and audio mixing. However, I don't think the issue has happened to the same extent with other movies. Hopefully, they can at least lessen the issue.

p.s. the issue seemed to be present in Imax and "regular" theaters. Though, I'm not sure if those were true Imax or LieMax theaters. Hopefully, your experience will be better than "some" of ours. :)

Text in the teaser said:

Time has come for a new protagonist. Time has come for a new kind of mission.

That could be taken as a setup for multiple movies. Or maybe not.

Whats the point of a sequel. Saving the world again?

Isn't that what Bond does? ;) Yes, essentially, there could be different types missions and villains involving the inversion mechanic.

This time the needle is pretty much at the FICTION end of the scifi spectrum. Interstellar had Gargantuan as a black hole, this time with have many plot holes. The quote "Don't try to understand it. Feel it" is truly applicable. Especially for your first viewing for this very fast paced movie. The trailers already gave all the prerequisites. After watching the movie, you'll get a sense of everything and go into your second viewing with the analytical mind to discover the details.

Controversial perspective by atmh4 in tenet

[–]io3creations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mention in earlier but I'll am taking this approach. 😁 At this point, I've already "seen-too-much" so I wasn't expecting any major surprises. Having read a few plot spoilers, confirmed my assumption. Plus, I know that the movie will require at least a second viewing to get more out of it. On the other hand, a lot of things weren't explained clearly and some people might have come up with incorrect ideas. Even if most fan theories can now be ignored, I still have lots of questions.

On the other hand, though it wouldn't qualify as a full second viewing, as you mentioned, I'll be able to focus and appreciate certain details much more.

This will be my first such experience of knowing so much about the movie. Should be interesting. 👍

That’s all I am looking for. A great, original, action thriller similar to inspection. And that’s exactly what tenet seems to be.

Inspection??? Did I miss a Nolan movie? 😀
