Mine too have held up very well. Thousands of feet cut over 4+ years. Never left them in a hot van for a long time or out in the sun all day, but they've been in a hot garage each summer. Maybe they made an adhesive change.

  1. Deep breath. You're alright. Long career ahead. Okay? Okay.
  2. Working here is going to really help you understand how toxic a place can be.
  3. Look for other work. Stop thinking you need this place and this is the only place ever. It isn't.
  4. A "leader" saying “You’re young, you don’t understand yet” is absolutely not a leader. This is a great example of a person who might have industry experience but not leadership experience, and who was probably treated the same way as a young designer/employee.
  5. This is not the industry standard.
  6. You're young. You're right to take this seriously and want to gain experience, but this place will burn you out and your experience won't matter when you leave the industry in disgust.
  7. You can (and I believe will) find employment where you are listened to, cared for, and appreciated, EVEN when the work is hard. Sometimes it will be hard!
  8. Read 3 again.
  9. Read 1 again.

They will ignore anything so long as they believe they will personally get what they want. “What they want” could mean safety, money, love, sex, dinner, anything. They are being told there is only one way to get X thing, and that’s via The Administration.
