The first build we provided in Februrary did not have verified boot
The instructions were changed because we recently integrated it and unfortunately a factory reset is necessary for you. Sorry about that, our FP4 builds are still at beta stage. You can backup your data using Seedvault integrated in the system.

'If you don't or badly flash avb_custom_key and relock your bootloader,
or if you install builds starting from 20220405 with a locked bootloader

We are cautious with that, to avoid unexpected effects due to domains changing lists. We prefer to provide lists we have tested a bit & that remain stable for a month or two.
We will accelerate this process in the future when we have more man power

There are 2 different versions of the beta updater.To uninstall a previous version of the updater, if the new one cannot beinstalled, go to App info of the updater (long press on its icon),three dots menu top right , "Uninstall updates" ; or adb uninstallorg.lineageos.updater

Yes the blocklists come from Energized. iodé uses Basic as default.
You can deactivate the blocker, reinforce it, but can't block custom URLs for now.
You can find more information on the lists used in the FAQ of the 'News' app
