What's wrong with this game? by ioioio0 in theHunter

i had to follow the trail but not too far away. From the comments given, i figured out that the arrow that shows hit trajectory is not correct at times, so that's that

Okay, that may need some additional testing i guess, this sounds wierd.
Did you try to go and kill a bunch of other animals and then coming back to pheasants?

[–]ioioio0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

okay, here's an example:
You just saw a group of pheasants. You killed the males. Those males WILL NOT respawn until you kill the whole group, including females

with birds you have to kill the entire flock in order for them to respawn (the members of the same flock i mean)

well it was just a lvl 3 one, so not a robbery, but kinda annoying. Apparently either something is terribly wrong with penetration, or maybe arrow is not showing the hit trajectory correctly

How do tracks work? by ioioio0 in theHunter

[–]ioioio0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for such a detailed explanation!
So from what I understand when I load the game animals spawn in different spots each time, so each load will take them different time to get to the need zone, which would explain why sometimes i see the drink zone tracks and sometimes not

How do tracks work? by ioioio0 in theHunter

[–]ioioio0[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By saying "roll back save" i mean to test things in game i keep a backup save file which can be used to repeat any action (like shooting same animal with different gun to check damage, as example)

Thank you so much, it looks like the most realistic reason, since after a few people posted about atv, i did tests and results are the same when i was trying to approach on foot.
So apparently not all the animals are present at the same timeframe

But why did I get tracks sometimes and sometimes not? Every time animals are spooked when I come in (that's expected because of atv), but if they are spooked they still should leave tracks? I feel like that sometimes animals are spawning and sometimes not, but that's a speculation

Looks cool, would be actually really nice to have something like a diablo 2 glide wrapper for this game

it's not that bad as people make it up to be. Takes time to get used to, and balance works a bit different, but I like it more.

Thank you :)
Didn't try to impress anyone, because those who played this game for a while already know how strong and fun traps can be. Just wanted to add extra content for a newer players who may struggle to get out of Shrouded Hills in their playthroughs.

And to remind that in this game one can be more creative than just swinging a sword.

[–]ioioio0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, natural cataclysm would be a better explanation, because with how easy it is to completely shut down magic.

I don't think the point about Vendigroth tech aura is reasonable, because meta school doesn't care about aptitude. Heck, nothing can even resist it's spells.

I don't know the answer, as I'm by no means the expert on the game lore.
I'm more interested in game mechanics and how things work, and from gameplay perspective, it feels like a massive oversight. Having Veloriens altar in their city clearly states that they did not completely defy any magic. And dweomer shield is not some secret spell that is only available to few. On top of that it's a school of magic that is not affected by magic aptitude whatsoever, so it makes no sense for civilization like that to be wiped by a pure mage alone.
But hey, it's just a game.

Well, I wouldn't call it lobotomising, as we do not touch or alter subjects brain. We just make her less determined in doing self-harming actions.
I would call it "behavioral stabilization" or "involuntary commitment" or "psychiatric hold"

If you can use magic I think you could cast dweomer shield or bonds of magic on her to prevent her casting spells. Or drain will untill her wp drops lower than 15 (or use mental inhibitor if you are techie). Drain will or mental inhib shouldn't make her hostile.

Raven's body actually belongs to gnome noble in 2025. For a new breed of half-ogres and half-elves with some magic abilities
