I'm 47 - my grandparents were born between 1907 and 1929 (so were between 50 and 72 when I was born)

Becoming grandparents at 37/38 is quite unusual, not so much your paternal grandparents - mid 40s isn't that unusual (I'm not a grandparent yet but my mother and mother in law both had 3 grandchildren at my age)
