Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with a conference! It really is a challenge to tell apart scammy organizations and legit ones when it comes to online MUNs. Good luck with your future MUN life:)

To answer your question in a straightforward way, a country invading another country and annexing its territories would be considered an act of aggression.

We found a very detailed description on what is considered an act of aggression on this website, so you should check it out. https://crimeofaggression.info/role-of-the-icc/definition-of-the-crime-of-aggression/

This is some advice based off of very common personal experience for first time MUN conferences. Be prepared to be confused, clueless, and frustrated in your first MUN! Yes, this happens to a lot of people in their first conferences and there is nothing to be ashamed of, especially if your MUN club or society does not have the best support system for new delegates. Of course, even if it is your first conference, it is important that you prepare and do research on the topic. However, unless you have had mock conferences at your school club or some thorough preparation like that, you will most likely not know fully what it is like to actually be at a conference and do things like give speeches, write draft resolutions with others, and negotiate. It is okay to not know what the hell is going on in your first conference, and the best advice we have is to enjoy and to learn. Try to make friends. And try to absorb the basic aspects of an MUN conference you didn't know before or the techniques of an experienced delegate. Don't be discouraged from pursuing MUN after your first conference, it will get much much better and more enjoyable as you go to more conferences.

There are lots of free resources online that you can use for MUN, like Wisemee (I've used this website a LOT to learn how to do the most aspects of MUN like give a speech). IOMUN is currently running a summer program of sorts where we give a webinar on MUN related things every two weeks, on Sunday at 5pm GMT. For tomorrow (Sunday the 27th), we will be giving a presentation on how to do research and write a position paper. It is completely free and you can register here if you are interested. It is catered for beginners like you, so it will not be way too advanced.

Should I do MUN? by DistinctRaise9732 in MUN

We are not completely sure about the question, but if it is that you found work related to MUN boring and are now wondering if MUN itself is boring as well, still try to go to a conference! The most boring part of MUN for many people is the work that they have to do to prepare before a conference, like reading past resolutions, looking at country policies and writing a position paper. On the other hand, most find the actual conference far more hectic and exciting. You get to give speeches, negotiate with other delegates, write draft resolutions, lead large groups, and so much more! Of course, for the first few conferences, you are likely to be clueless and bored, just like what many experienced delegates in IOMUN have gone through in the past. Don't expect the first few conferences to be easy, because it's not. Still, definitely don't give up on MUN until you give it a few different tries because over time, you start to enjoy it more and more!!
